Sign up to 3dbuzz.com, then do the first VTM and get a basic knowledge of the user interface first. Dont go straight into modelling tutorials when you dont even know how to rotate an object. Once you do the 1st VTM do the other 3 and then start going to those other websites and trying out the modell...

RE: Special Effects software
Alot of the software you have on the list do alot of the same things, some better than others but I think you should stick with After Effects before getting into shake or combustion.

AS DEDFX you would need a camera with variable frame rates to achieve smooth slowmotion. The only camera out there at the moment below $10,000 that can do this is the Panasonic HVX200. It reaches 60 fps and would give you a much better slow motion than a regular camera slowed down below 25%. But if ...

Pros 3ccd and Interchangeable Lenses Real widescreen 24p and many more that I can't think of right now Cons I believe even though it is kinda newish it already is starting to get kind of old, with all the new HD and HDV cameras coming out this year. Maybe you should wait a bit longer and save for th...

RE: 3ds Max
Yeah definately look for tutorials on the internet or buy some training DVD's. It would be very hard for someone here to explain how to do it because it is quite a complicated process from rigging your model to eventually animatiing it. A few sites for tutorials and DVD's would be 3d-palace.com, 3db...

RE: Robbery Clip
That was the first time we had ever done a dolly shot in any of our scenes, so I'm glad it turned out good. In case any of you are interested on how we did it...all we did was put 6 pieces of wood down on the ground, then we got 3 skateboards (mine and friends) and rolled them along the pieces of wo...

First of all I liked the opening music, it went well and opened it nicely. I liked the acting, editing and the camera work was well done. I thought that parts of the film the music was nice but other parts the music was too loud and the voices are a bit hard to hear. There is one part where he is si...

RE: Robbery Clip
ct_bullet we actually filmed a little bit more for this test explaining what he was steeling, but seeing as it only was a test I just left it how it was. This scene also relates a bit to the one I posted here a week ago, the guy in the clip needed money, he waited til his friend left the house and s...

That was very good. The cuts between the close ups and wide angles matched perfectly. The acting was great, too. I noticed there was no background noise, are you using a microphone? The microphone that we used was a shotgun mic that I just recently bought off ebay, the model is the Audio Technica 4...

Hello, Here is a test we did, just filming a scene from a movie that doesnt and won't exist, just a bit of practice. The clip is around 40 seconds and the file is around 4 mb. I uploaded it to both Rapidshare and Putfile..so choose whatever one works for you. http://rapidshare.de/files/8079044/scene...

New Weird Movie - Download
Hello, Here is a movie that we thought up, filmed and edited all today in the span of a few hours. It was more just for a bit of practice rather than anything serious hence the fact there is pretty much no story. So please download and comment on the filming and editing rather than the story. (To us...

DV Rig Pro
Im looking into buying the DV Rig Pro but I have a few questions to anyone who has used one or owns one. I have a SonyPD170 and just say a few years down the track I sell it and buy a HVX200, will it be compatible with the DV Rig Pro, I would assume so. Also does anybody have a link to footage shot ...

The effects you are trying to achieve are only going to look good if use higher end programs other than Premiere. Premiere is for editing and even if you could do it in there, the results wouldn't be decent. There may be some free programs out there that can give ok results which im sure someone els...

I don't think that effect can be done in Premiere Pro but if you have Adobe After Effects it can be done easily.

The other day I bought a new firewire card and installed it properly, XP recognised it and everything worked well until I plugged the camera in and nothing happened, so it wasn't the firewire card. So then I came to the conclusion that it was the camera so I tried it with my friends camera and my ol...
