Woah, I'm not angry, and I wasn't making fun of your avatar; as far as I'm concerned you've justified its reason for being and I have no opinion in this debate. I was just curious.aaronv2 wrote:everyone just gets angry and defends themselves by making fun of my avatar

Right, please don't take this as an attack aaronv2, because it isn't, and I know you're expecting to see one here, but I honestly just want to know something. Why is your avatar a picture of a USP handgun on a blood-soaked background? I'm not trying to cut you down, but when you say what the hell is...

Looks like you guys are pretty poor shots! I wish I had cool toys like you... fun little clip.
How long ago was that shot, 'cause damn you're having nice weather if it's recent.

RE: Re: RE: New Film "Yearning For A Bed"
I guite enjoyed it, though it was far from your best work. The unsteadyness of the camera throughout was very distracting, and some of the sound work was very abrupt (although I really liked the sound of the falling pillows). Overall a good effort, but not up to your usual standards. One point of in...

No, that would be crack cocaine they were smoking. Should edit it to fit in with the rest of the nature documentary.

RE: Youtube vs Google Video
I went with Googe Video, just because I like the site design and uploading better, but really it's a negligable difference. That and, so far, I've only uploaded things to Google video, it's nice to be able to use the same account for so many things.

RE: Whats your favourite weapon?
Too much to cover. Were it a bladed weapon I would either go with a big ol' KA-BAR, or my Smith and Wesson HRT. For guns, nothing beats the classic lines of a Colt M1911A1, though the FN FiveseveN comes pretty close.

RE: "Barry Lyndon" An Exercise in Style
The lighting was superb, I found myself forgeting that this wasn't "professionaly" done. I can find no fault in it, except I did not like the long zoom out, it wasn't smooth enough to work in place of a good dolly shot.
I'm beating myself up right now because I can't place the dialogue!

RE: Q: Ash/snow effect (Silent Hill)
Now don't get defensive here, but why do it on the computer when it would be far easier to do this as a physical effect, and you would be guarenteed it would look right.

like i said before... the hand model is used as an emitter. not the final comp. that will be a real hand Ah, I see (even if those words don't actually make that much sense to me). I was just thinking the shape the flame was coming off in looked a little inorganic, but that makes sense, as the hand ...

RE: Hellbot/Fantastic Four Flaming Hands Thingo
Looks awesome, except at the very end of that clip it's a little too "bubbly" around the hand. Like the fire is coming off an invisible surface an inch off the surface of the hand (noticable around the thumb).

No. I would rather waste money on an underwater camera case, then waste my money on some lights. I realise 'waste' might not be the word of the day, but spending over $100 to make a scene light is pretty damn dumb considering I'm cheap. Besides, why cant i just use some lamps that we have sitting a...

Yeah, coat it in some poly-fill and then sculpt it while it's still damp. Or paper mache can look pretty good if you take your time and smooth out and wrinkles.

RE: Hellbot/Fantastic Four Flaming Hands Thingo
I think it need to be a bit more obvious where the fire is coming from, it looks a bit too superimposed on the hand (behind it actually), all told though it looks quite good, I think the speed is just about perfect.
