Interesting material for glass crashes

Post by gundam007 »

I was searching the net looking for a resin casting kit for my 1/35 modelling needs, when I came upon this stuff. Kinda expensive, but it is Breakaway glass!(actually plastic) It says not for home use.... but heck, test it a few times to see if it works well, then use it http://www.smooth-on.com/plastics.asp#325 and look down the list for Smash! plastic

I've posted that site here many times before! ;) Too pricey for what I do, I have a backpack with old broken cd cases. That is my broken glass!

Also, I think they only say not for home use because the process of forming it makes a ton of noxious fumes, so do it outside, and don't stand right over it, and you should be fine.

Burning or melting plastics usually do create toxic fumes. That's is why is it illegal to throw plastics in a fireplace or burn it at the beach.
