Yep, Its a machine. It runs on 2 car batteries and a heavy duty wheel chair motor
It weighs about 500 pounds, so it lurches forward really slow, like Frankenstein

Thanks for the comments. I'm not going to defend the scale of this thing any more. Believe it or not, it is a fully functional machine. That's why it is on the Robot Talent Show website, because it will be part of a show in NYC this September. I thought it would be a cool chance to show you one of m...

If you say the sync is off by a little, can you just drag the audio in the timeline until it syncs up with your picture? Are there cuts in your video and audio, you were dragging clips in your timeline and now things aren't quite matching up? If that is the case, there should be a red arrow on the c...

This is turning into a really good thread. Thanks for posting those articles Brown Cow. How about this one: I want to do some Night Driving scenes the old school way. In a studio with a car set, and the lights go past to simulate passing cars or lit up signs. I imagine that these are lights mounted ...

Thanks for the comments. So many people think the photo is a toy, which I think is really cool because this thing is like 9 feet tall. I don't know "My Secret Valley", is it something I should check out? If you go to this link you can see a still of the Robot fighting a person, to give you...

The boots I got at various Goodwill stores and other thrift stores. The gloves I had to make because they are really big. I did yard work for this lady all summer, and in exchange she made me those big green gloves. The machine could be useful in the fight against Udd kind. It is always ready for a ...

Great story!!
I think BILL PULLMAN would be the perfect actor to play "Fred"
I saw him play a very convincing Jazz man in an obscure David
Lynch movie, but I can't remember what it was called.

Giant Robot Prop

This is the first chance to show you guys something I made. It is a Robot prop that I used in my last movie. The movie is about scientists who develop an "Ultimate Weapon" it is a Kung fu fighting robot. It punches and kicks, and the head is a working periscope. A driver sits inside the ma...

The fur that I'm talking about is that fake CHewbacca suit fur. It really wouldn't look
"fake" I don't think, especially if you're not filming in broad daylight. (Unless it
is a day time wherewolf for some reason)

I think it would be cool to actually make a suit. You can re use it over and over and it will always look the same. Where do you live? If you live in a big city, you could find a fabric warehouse outlet that will have rolls of any kind of fabric you can possibly imagine. Here where I live there's a ...

If you have after effects, here is a nice recipe for enhancing footage: Put your video in the timeline, and duplicate the layer 2 times. On the bottom layer, add a 2% fast blur, and set the Transfer layer setting to "overlay" On the middle layer, change the transparency to 30%, add a 1% Fa...

It almost looks like technicolor film

Can you make the buttons in photoshop and export them into encore? For some reason I thought
you could do all of your imagery in photoshop and AE and then build it as a DVD menu in
Encore.

Yeah I guess I should have qualified my statement. If you tried something shooting during the day and darkened the image in post to make it look like night, the hilights and shadows will give it away. Using a dramatic lighting scheme ( the car head lights with gels over them being an example) will g...

You can film with more light and darken the image in post, You just have to be careful about where you are casting shadows. Trying to light for a night time scene is an art form that I am trying to get better at. I think my next movie will be all night scenes. It gives you a chance to use intense co...

I definitely plan out action sequences, and also any other time when a cool camera angle is important
Here is a cool tut on the subject, he's talking about making comic books, but it doesn't
matter. The principal is the same.

I second OutcastJiob's recommendation. You can get at least a one gallon insect sprayer, and pump up the pressure. Low budget kung fu is the best. If you can get a hold of this movie "Ichi the Killer" by Takashi Miike, it has tons of spraying blood effects for refference. Good luck, it sou...
