RE: hey

I just used stock footage. Looking back on the footage, it aint all that good, and the smoke looks pretty poor. I needed to make it a lot more transparent.

RE: party video

I loved the zoom and trail effects, they were pretty nicely done. Yes like people have mentioned, it does need trimming. It must've been pretty awkward to film your mates dance in a room...

Steadycams go a long way, you will be astounded when you see the results. Anyways, i havn't been on matthawkins for some time now, and your film was the first one i watched, and i did enjoy it. I liked the camera movement, (even if it does need to be a little more steadier) and i enjoyed the simple ...

Here is a test i made with recoil, shell and smoke. The smoke needs to be WAY MORE transparent i know, so don't comment on that, but for the shell ejection, i simply threw a battery in the air. I do realise that you cant use that option for all situations so stock footage is most wise. I will try an...

Make the muzzles more transparent and shorter. Also, try and use a tripod. If i am not mistaken, is that the same music you used for your last film you posted up? If so, use a variety of music.

the reactions of the things being hit by the force has to be realistic as well, which can often be a challenge. Bad a** effect.

A bit too compressed as i couldn't really see much, but seems pretty good. Like Gyro wrote, the simplicity is effective. Cool head, looking forward to seeing the finished movie. Good luck

Yeah, that was pretty good. The camera movement is artificial is it not? Good interaction with the clones. Did you use greenscreen at all because at one point it looked like you did.

Ever since you mentioned this film a while back, i was intrigued by the unique storyline, and above all, how proffessional it is. The trailer looks pretty damn good. Keep it up. I am very looking forward to the final product.

RE: ADR - video film tip

Is that Avid that i heard you use? pretty nice. Looks pretty darn professional. I suppose as long as you have a microphone and a tv monitor, you can sort of achieve the basic aim, but not as good quality.

RE: Artificial gun recoil

well i tried to make it after the muzzle, because i saw a vid on the net and it was a frame after the muzzle which is what i did. Also the shell is ejecting out the right side of the gun.

RE: Artificial gun recoil

yeah i know, as soon as i finished, i realised that i didn't use the dodge tool to light up the room. If you try and pause it on the first frame of the muzzle flash, i did actually increase the contrast and brightness but it wasn't all that prominent. Oh and by the way, did anyone realise the shell ...

Artificial gun recoil

Hey. I tried to put in a fake gun slide with photoshop. It was rather tedious but once i got the hang of it it was alright. Have a look for your self. I know its not perfect or anything but i just wanted to try it.
Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks

it is a very sophisticated FREE program. It definately doesn't suck but its userface in my opinion is quite hard, and is a hard program to get used to.

Yeah, well done. I enjoyed all of them except the unforgiven test footage as i cant view it. You need to deinterlace Anathema which i thought was very good by the way. Other than that good work, keep it up.

RE: hp ad commercial effect

That is a pretty damn good attempt. There has been a thread concerning this subject before. My idea would be masking the frame you want to be in the photo frame if that makes sense and obviously you would have to keyframe the frame to move with the photo frame. I would test it out but im too lazy.
