Stargate Sounds

I've been thinking of working on a stargate fanfilm, but finding high quality sounds such as a loop of the stargate rings moving, chevrons locking, etc are hard to find. I've only found recordings of shows so far. Anyone know a way of getting my hands onto,- maybe the original sound effects they use...

CRT All the way unless you spend 2000+ on a good LCD...

... i've had quite a few CRTs and LCDs and CRTs just give a much nicer image.
But if you plan on spending 10hrs+ staring at a screen full of code or other text then go for LCD, easier on the eyes...

Another nice way of making scenes more chaotic and moving is to move around the actors in circle, works great outside. Try that whith two characters fighting... amazing!

The 3D itself isn't very complex, a few rotating rings and a light object with lens effects behind. It doesnt use any fancy lighting or modeling, but it serves its purpose very well!

Re: RE: What

I love slow panoramic views following the action of the characters. I hate tightly cropped "blair-witch-style" camerawork that makes me feel sea-sick when I watch it - Like in Battlestar Galatica (New series) for instance. Hell yeah! Since watching BSG TNS i've pretty much abandoned the o...

Re: RE: Janus X Trailer

Janus... Does the character have any relationship with the ancient Roman god Janus? He was a two faced god who had a temple on one of the hills of Rome. The temple's doors were closed during peace, and opened during war, so that he could help the Romans freely. I was just wondering if there was a r...

I did an effect like this once, first we ran thick grey goo ( Food coloring, flour and milk ) over the actors head, then we put a kind of tent of cling film over his head ( only for a few seconds at a time obviosuly ) to eliminate the obvious human shape of the head and neck and ran more of the goo ...

Ok ... old school is fine with me  First thing i'd do is spread water out over the ground so that it appears dark and wet, closer to the camera i might even try to make some fake puddles with a plastic bag to keep the water in. Then i'd make all of my actors completely wet. You only need water...

I use premiere pro 1.5 for the editing itself but i render and make the credits using Movie Maker 2, works like a charm that little program ^_^

It's got some pretty good text effects and it'll get the job done quickly... and those wmv formats are great *dribble*
