RE: I cant burn DVDs from Pinnacle Studio 9 plus

I don't own Studio 9, but for anyone to help you, more information is needed. What have you tried? What errors are you running into? In what stage of writing or burning are you encountering problems? Have you checked the help file? Have you consulted the manual?

Re: RE: FILMS shot on miniDV? can you think of any?

It wasn't MiniDV, but I know alot of Michael Mann's films were shot on video. Not a lot; just one: Collateral. Everything that took place outdoors was shot on HD. Around 85% of it was on HD I read somewhere. Open water was shot with a GL@, it gives me hope I have one. No, it was shot on a VX2000 an...

RE: Costumes

It would help if we knew the context of the story. What are the hero and villian competing for? Why? What is their situation? This will help us to better understand what each character should wear. My first suggestion, however, is to get rid of the trenchcoat for the hero. That whole concept is over...

You've got some great stuff, but i'm not to impressed for some reason. I'll have to watch the final product to see. Strangely, these are my exact thoughts. It's very apparent that you've spent quite a bit of time on this and paid attention to detail, but something isn't sitting right with me. Maybe...

I agree with Jass about the B&W. I also think you should work on your composition, especially if your trailer only consists of a single shot. If you're going to stick with using one shot for the trailer, at least make it more interesting by adding some movement to it. Honestly though, you're goi...

My patience ran low after waiting a few minutes for all the stills to load (and I'm on a broadband connection!). That's about all I can say. Compress the stills and make them smaller in size.

In After Effects, you can probably just desaturate each individual color, and bump up the saturation of the remaining color (in this case, blue) a little. This can probably be achieved in other similar programs as well, and should save you some time compared to that tutorial above.

RE: Adobe After Effects

If you're interested in getting After Effects, I'd recommend that you search around the net and find a bunch of After Effects tutorials. This will show you what the software is capable of, and may give you an idea of the program layout.

Here's the thing about AlamDV: You can only apply pre-made effects to your footage. True, you can make effects plug-ins for AlamDV. However, you cannot make effects with AlamDV. If you're looking to just add effects to your footage, then you'll probably end up going the AlamDV route. However, if you...

From the other thread: please take a look and pass on comments. this was done a while back and we have improved in filming since then. The script for this scene has changed a bit and the sound and lighting are pretty bad and will be improved upon (along with some of the acting!). Seems like you've i...

Re: How to pull off goin through a wall

Build a basic frame for a wall out of 2 x 4's (minus the supports within the wall) and cover it with a sheet of drywall. Score the drywall in the section that will break through, and scatter the back with talcum powder. During the fall, add in some debris when the fall takes place. This can be achei...

RE: Re: RE: Permission to videotape

Give them a call first and tell them who you are and what you're doing. Then you may proceed to have a face-to-face meeting. No one would really take you serious if you just walk in there and ask if you can film something right then and there. Everything must be done far in advance. Contracts signed...

Go into the Render Settings and make sure that under Time Span you have "Work Area Only" or "Length of Comp" selected. It may be that you have a custom duration set, in which case this should solve it.

RE: Permission to videotape

Permission should always be in writing. Then there's no question as to whether or not permission was given, when, under what conditions, etc.
