If they catch you though, they'll probably confiscate your tape.

It's true. E-mail accounts often have limits on the size of a file you can send or receive.

You don't need lighting Somebody just shoot me right now. I need the outsides of buildings and the insides and outsides of a bank. Everything Carnage said is completely accurate. Avoid the color keying at all costs. The inside of the bank may need to be contructed in order to maintain historical ac...

Re: Neutral Density filter
it seemed like i could just turn down the exposure and get the EXACT same darkened effect? Yes, exactly. However, an open iris will allow for a shallow depth of field. If you bump down the exposure, you will lose this ability to attain a shallower depth of field. The neutral density filter allows y...

You'd better be damn good at lighting to pull this one off, considering it takes place in "pitch black."

Use Neutral Density filters to keep the iris open. Then, change the focal length. Back up, and zoom in a little, keep the iris open, and focus. You should get a shallow depth of field this way.

I don't have Combustion, though it is often compared with After Effects, which I do have. If they're similar, then Combustion should be a great tool for color correction and color keying. After Effects is a very powerful tool in the right hands. I often hear that Combustion is even more powerful tha...

Uhh... low light with a film camera? You have to light the s*** out of film to get a good exposure (or so I've been told). Scratch that one off your list.Scott_Talbot wrote:i meant that film has better light response, better lowlight and highlight filming, making it easier to set up shots and what not...

Re: What is a zebra pattern used for?
what is a natural density filter used for? A neutral density filter is used to cut the amount of light entering through the lens. Using this filter, you can maintain a wider aperture setting, thus retaining the shallow depth of field. Here's a quote from B&H: "Neutral Density filters have ...

Re: Getting a Panasonic NVGS400!
It's on the same level as a GL2... Not quite. The GL2 uses 1/4" CCDs, whereas the GS400 uses smaller 1/4.7" CCDs. The GS400's chips are also densely packed with pixels, limiting the low light capability. The GS400 lacks many features of the GL2, but it's still a nice little cam. The high ...

Windows Media is my favorite. I used to be a big fan of Quicktime, until it actually came to compressing my own films. Quicktime yeilds significantly larger file sizes than most other codecs. Here are a few tips for compression. Reduce the frame size: Instead of 720x480, try 360x240, or another prop...

Some people have talked about playing PAL tapes on Sony NTSC camcorders. I dont' know about the other way around or with a different brand of camcorders. Generally though, I would stay away from this.
