I don't mean to be rude or anything, but as I already said: I am using an ANALOGUE camera, and the RCA plugs do not go into my sound card. I need an RCA to Minijack connector. Anyway, I have bought the device. I really hope its good, and if its not, well, I was silly for asking you guys too late on....

I forgot to say:

I don't care about time it takes to capture, aslong as it is good quality. Can anyone help? It captures MPEGs.
The reason I want this is because most cards will not have leads for audio, and I cannot find an RCA to Minijack adaptore anywhere.

My camera isn't DV. It's Analouge. That's why I need something like this. Are you saying a USB device is better then Parallel? I take it PCI is the best?

Parallel Port Capture

I've found a real neat Video Capture Device on Ebay made by Dazzle. My only worry however is that it plugs into the parallel port. I have never heard of a parallel port being used for video before, and am worried about poor quality. Does anyone have any knowledge of the situation?

I have a £16 microphone for general PC stuff, and tested it with the camcorder. With the external microphone, sound was about 1/2 the volume of the internal mic. and actually had more motor noise! So I stick with the internal microphone.

I wonder how much Ulead paid this guy to make that post?
But to be srious, if all that stuff is true, it sounds pretty neat. I'll stick with Premiere for now though.

I take it this means there is no way to actually removed motor noise. I guess if you could, it would probably be in something like Goldwave that is designed for sound, rather then Premiere.

See I always thought that that was what interlacing was, but seemingly not. I dont think Premiere can blend frames together.

Ive been playing the keyboard for 4 years, and my teacher is into digital media and everything, so I get free copies of Cakewalk etc. Its annoying, cos if my keyboard was one edition higher, and I could create midis, I'd be laughing - composing piece after piece. Unfortunately, that isnt the case, a...

Erm, thanks. I kinda already knew about the concept of the Alpha Map, however, its just the actual how to use one issue.

I am using Premiere 6.0, and I have Photoshop 7. Say I make a map in Photoshop, now how do I get Premiere to recognise it as an Alpha Map, not just as strange image?

After downloading a few of Edgen's scores, I must say, yes, they are awesome pieces of individual music, and could suit one film well, as it would provide a theme, but I do find his work is quite samey. There is not alot of difference between each of his brilliant pieces.

Using a Alpha Map

I first came across Alpha Maps on the Shosk website, with their article on how the made people appear as if they were high up on a cliff. As this was not really a tutorial, I am at loss on how to do this. I am pretty sure the effect is similar to bluescreening, excpet that you specific which parts y...
