Yea the exported avi has the audio increase, and the mp2 that is exported from that to put on dvd still has the increase.
The movie plays fine, it's just the audio that is evened out the whole way through.

Audio loses it's dynamic range, loudness on authored DVD
I have a movie edited in premiere, and in the middle everything is supposed to get extremely loud. It sounds great in premiere and even exported but once I burn it to DVD and play it on a TV, it loses that range, the volume level remains fairly constant and never gets loud as it is supposed to. Any ...

Thanks for the very interesting review Lawriejaffa! It was a truly fun read. The opening music is proving unpopular all around... Damn. Yes the sound quality in the whole piece is poor, and only made poorer by youtube. I had no other means of sound recording than the omni-directional mic on the camc...

Premiere 6.5 AVI --> DVD MPEG2 BEST WAY??
I have a finished AVI file exported from Premiere 6.5, and want to know the best way to excode it to DVD (Mpeg-2). I've tried Nerovision Express from Nero 7, and I set it to the highest encoding quality, but it still gets a bit pixelated, more than I would like anyway. So does anybody know the BEST ...

Thanks a lot fellas, I appreciate the feedback. That's funny that you think I downloaded the laughing. It was actually my own evil laugh reversed. It is reversed because most of the evil reflection is also reversed to help the creepiness. The title comes from what kind of short it is... a fanboy kin...

"Fanboy" video by me.
Hey boys, I haven't posted in at least a year, probably more, but I thought I'd update you all with my most recent project, "Fanboy." I made it entirely by myself, even duct-taped the camera to my ceiling a couple times. Hope you like it. *Warning - it's pretty gory & gross* Just scrol...

Nicely done Epsilon! I like it. I just wish there was more blood. That's not a criticism, I just like to see more. Where did you find the tutorial to do that? I've never used 3D Studio Max, but I just got Particle Illusion 3 to try and do the same sort of thing. Ever since I saw the digita...

Corn Syrup and food colouring. The syrup will thin out quite well after enough food colouring has been added. You'll need a ton of red, and half as much yellow, and a tiny bit of blue to get the colour just right. If you just use red it'll look too pink. I recommend you mix it in the same lighting c...

The Japanese are way ahead. I recommend anything by Takashi Miike, like The Audition or Ichi the Killer. Ringu is also good (much better than The Ring.)
Check out this trailer for Ichi, only if you don't mind extreme gore:

Those are interesting points Austin, and I hadn't considered how her lack of abdominal muscles would affect her movements. I was just happy she could scream while surrounded by goofy looking zombies and props. Your observation makes me think of a moment in Day of the Dead, where a guy has his head p...

It was done very simply. I built a fake torso bit that went over her real torso. (It was one of those clear plastic bathing suit hangers, shaped like a female torso that I painted etc.) If I'd shot from a different angle you would see it sitting on top of her. The fake part had a big bloody hole in ...

Check out the last thing I shot. It's a rough cut, and I want to know if the editing distracts from the carnage. It's just random zombie violence, but since I didn't do proper coverage, I fear the editing is heavy-handed. http://gumezine.tripod.com/ashley.wmv Of course, since tripod is hosting the f...

Flashback - fuzzy edges around video
What's the best way to put a fuzzy frame around letterboxed footage to create that oh-so-cheesy flashback effect, in Premiere?
