ok sorry it took me so long to get back to this, but i watched this part of minority report and it is a lot simpler than i thought. i would create a circular mask to part of the video, the ad the ripple effect. the ripple length and height look fairly low in the movie, and the speed is quite fast so...

I have Avid xpress pro HD already, and I have got my eye on the JVC GY-HD100U. So maybe I can afford HD in a few years. don't get the JVC, its not all that it's made out to be. It looks like it has all the same features that the XL-2 has except in HD, but i have not heard good things about it. i wo...

RE: Effect like Minority Report Gun
do you have after effects? that would do it or a 3d program, you won't be able to do this using editing programs like premiere, final cut, vegas, etc

Display problems
on my dell inspiron 8100 laptop i have been having display problems. when i try to change the resolution (everything is very tiny right now) instead of making icons and text bigger, the screen changes so that the desktop does not even fill the whole screen and the edges are left black. i have never ...

its actually not a slow zoom that you are seeing, its a slow dolly. they sounds the same but there is a huge difference in the way it looks. one thing that really separates film from dv is the depth of field that can be achieved with film. however it can be easily mocked with dv. the reason we canno...

hmm thanks for the info. i will keep that in mind. what is a program that you recommend for more advanced text generation? premiere pro won't do the job for me, and i am afraid that a 3d program may be my only other option, however i don't feel like forking out a few hundred for 3ds max, and i have ...

ok so i am making this title sequence for a golf camp. it looks great when i play it in after effects however, when i render it out with compression set on none, and change color settings to millions of colors+, i notice that the rendered video is not as clean looking as it is in after effects. here...

well it sounds like what you described is a pretty good key, so if you were getting some green lines or spill before then you didn't have a pretty good key. however, it is not about the editing software that you have. it is about how you light it. now the solution does not lie in lighting the cr** o...

i am on the anti digital blood crew. realism is all that matters in this world. and i can tell you one thing, it is not convincing for a second. now if you arent really serious about your work, i would completely understand why you would want to use digital blood. However, if you want your films to ...

What film did you work on? it was a film called reunion. it was only a $500,000, but we got so many hook ups that it looks more like a 10 million dollar film. The 1st AC works at Panavision so the production got a great deal on the camera. The gaffer works at paramount so all the lights were free. ...
