Yeah, that is horrible. Safety is a definate when around pyrotechnics. I don't think any amatures should be using explosives. Amature really means you are just unknowlegable, or inexperienced in a subject. If you want to blow something up, study it first. By then, you shouldn't be an amature. Always...

Personally, I don't like the blur. It's all your choice as the editor. I would definately adjust the contrast, gamma, alphas, and brightness. Play around with deinterlacing you footage. Experiment around until you get what you like. Once you are able to adjust it so it looks like film, you will be t...

The biggest thing for realism are the small details. Have insignia in their correct places. Be sure to have all the neccessary insignia. Write little messeges on clothing. Scar a helmet, wrinkle everything, and have them give nicknames to everything. Make sure they know how to wear the equipment, bu...

NOPE!

Those buttheads need to put out the Entire soundtrack used in the movie. Same thing with Titanic. They like to screw with your mind. All I can say is keep looking and maybe you will find something. Let me know if you find anything.

Oh really? It seems my problem is the other way around, haha! Everyone's the expert, but we still lack the actors! Try inspiring them to help out. Assign them all jobs that sound Important. Ie: OFFICIAL RUNNING SUPERVISOR OF PRODUCTION ACTIVITIES. Actually meaning: bus boy! Lol. Nothing like a littl...

If you are really having that much trouble, just skip after effects and do it all in Premiere. I've made beautiful overlays in Premiere, probably due to wasting time making tons of 6 second tests. But it will all pay that one day I decide to make my big hit film! I will post a couple of my tests one...

good tip: if there is frost on the lens, then it is too cold. :) But seriously keep your camcorder free from moisture. Treat it like your child. Keep it in its case when not being used. If it is snowing, you should buy or build a device to go around the camera and lens to protect it. Whatever you do...

I know this is really off topic, but thinking about ghosts, I just got this wierd idea. In Raiders of the Lost Ark, what if the nazis brought the Ghostbusters along to take care of that little ghost problem they had with the ark? That might make a really funny parody of the two movies. Haha! Oh... w...

The PAL standard is 25 fps. Like what Raptor said, the tripod is your friend. But don't limit yourself to only the tripod. Experiment with some methods of moving the camera around... good tip: unless you are making a documentary type film, NEVER shoot handheld!! Unecessary jerky camera movements wil...

Gotta love these debates!

If you had 3ds max I would gladly be more than helpful to your concerns.

You could try filming your ghastly characters and key them into the background. Then make them transparent. That might work decently. For the warrior falling, just motion animate the overlay to make him appear to be falling.

I think the biggest problem with halogens is that they are horrible for indoor use. Problem being they are Extremely Hot! As long as you keep it cool around the lights and don't knock them over, they are quite practical. Outdoor is recommended, though.

I'm not going to stop you. I am just saying you guys need to think a little bit more safely. If you pull off some nice explosions while filming, be sure to post them. I would call the fire department and let them know you are using fire. Just a precaution, so they will be prepared should you decide ...

For one, you could take your footage and go into Premiere Pro. There, you could adjust anything you want to enhance it. I've done a series of short clips, and it seriously looks like film! It takes a lot of experimentation and time of get what you want, but it is really worth it! I would go with Pre...

I would love to give you a tip. However, I cannot decode the file. Could you export it as a .mov, or .wmv instead? I think a lot of people don't have divx.
