Hi DeadREEL, welcome the the forums. The helicopter was done in Lightwave by Adam. The speedometer was inspired by Ornsack. I took a photo of my dash board, painted out the needle and created a new needle in 3D Studio Max. The building was slightly more complicated because it involved a number of el...

Stunts & Physical Effects Forum Guidelines
This forum is for the discussion of stunts and effects that don't involve computer generated imagery. These are the 'old fashion' sort of effects started in the days when there were no computers, and if there were they were the size of a small house.

For a looney gun-nut perspective of my AK efforts please have a look at : http://www.ar15.com/forums/ I think these guys need to get out more. The concept of it being a prop has obviously completely passed them by. Of all the people on the planet who shouldn't be allowed real weapons it is those guy...

The process hanasand described is great for creating clips from bigger clips. I use this very method for taking camera footage, tidying up the ends and then saving as 'cleaned' file. This technique is great if you've got lots of different scenes in one file and you want to split them up. ie you want...

I've got a selection :) Ulead DVD Workshop, Instant CD/DVD 6.5 Stomp RecordNow Max and Nero 5.5. Used Nero for data no probs. Just tried a video disc with DVD Workshop, onto a DVD-RW (my only one) but it didn't play in my Wharfedale DVD player in the lounge. May risk a DVD-R. What writer have you got?

DVD Writers
Anyone out there got a DVD writer?
I've just ordered a Pioneer 105 DVD-R/RW. Its the same as the Pioneer A05 but doesn't come with the software or fancy box. And is therefore cheaper

There are lots of compression types and video formats out there. It really depends on the application. If you want to publish to the internet you would be looking at completely different compression formats than if you wanted to show it at your local cinema. What sort of video were you thinking abou...

Did some filming with my brother Phil at the weekend using my prototype car camera mount. Very pleased with the results and no motoring convictions. Bonus. Car Mount Test [500kb WMV file] The sound is a rushed job just to improve the sound cos it was a bit boring. The engine sound is original ... wh...

Is the item you are trying to scale in Video track 1A ? I would suggest sticking everything in video tracks above V1A and V1B. This gives you the full set of motion and transparency options. The item you are scaling must be in a video track other than V1A or V1B. In the motion settings set the "...

I saw bullet time on BBCs 'Bluepeter'. They go a sheep dog to jump through a hoop lined with cameras. They took photos as it jumped and then created a 3D 'view' of the dog frozen in time. Bullet time is the same just with movie cameras rather than still cameras. The Matrix people like to think they ...
