RE: Type of Lens?

I think you've hit the nail on the head without realising it. A wide angle lens is different to a fish eye lens ;) Although a wide angle lens isn't as angular as you might think, it's just a lot weaker and is barely un-noticeable (it helps if you don't have your camera at right angles with your sets...

Plus nobody seems to have a go at any of the other similar operating systems over the years. I'm pretty sure nobody argued about similar operating systems in the Atari ST/Amiga days (only power and games!).

YouTube shouldn't have a problem with widescreen footage. Was probably encoded wrong (or YouTube was just having a funny five minutes) But yeah, like people have said above, very very well done! Although if I saw it on TV with all the other music videos I doubt I'd be drawn to it. It's no biggy thou...

RE: "The Nemesis" - Teaser Trailer

If coded right, YouTube should have no problems with widescreen conversions these days (I usually convert to a high quality widescreen WMV file before uploading) As for the trailer, seemed a bit too slow paced for the subject matter (but I'm guessing you just loved that music ;) ). I didn't really w...

RE: night lighting - I have a problem

If I was doing this shot I'd create two layers in After Effects or Combustion or something, and colour correct both of them (making one dark blue and one bright orange) and then use masks to select which areas need the right colours by hand Saying that, I doubt a pipe and lantern would stay lit if t...

RE: Se7en Color Correction

Thanks for finding it on YouTube!

A friend of mine lent me the DVD just for this extra a while back and I learnt so much about grading (although I still think Hollywood over-grade these days)

Another good one to look at is the extras on the first LOTR extended edition

Seconded! At first I thought "Er, maybe they don't have it in the US or something" before realising that was stupid. As stupid as not knowing what flour is, in fact!

Ornsack, I am disappointed I have to wait even longer ... but glad you are going ahead with it rather than just dropping the idea. If you need anything then let me know. My acting abilities probably aren't of much interest to you but if you need a stunt driver, helicopter pilot, hand guns, briefcas...

Duplicity

Summary: A film was made. It was s***. Someone saw my Naughty Soldiers trailer and paid me stupid money to make the film look good in trailer form. I half succeeded, but I'm strangely proud of it. Cue one and a half years later. The film has since been picked up by Warner Bros (amazingly, 'cus the f...

Re: RE: Re: RE: Wire Removal?

I got a good tip. How about the person that is doing the stunt not be a wus and dont use any wires i dont. It makes the movie look better and the person that did the stunts can say that he did them without wires. ok, i don't see you point... Don't worry, it's just tecmeister trying to sound 'cool'....

how much moola did u spend on the original anyway ?? Without sounding like one of those types who try and sound all professional when talking about money, about £400. Was all spent on costumes, latex and van hire though so it was all on screen (even the van hire) Luckily we own most of the stuff...

Yeah it's simple and effective enough to not do much else with it to be honest!

On a side note, I couldn't see the squiggily line on my laptop for the life of me until I tipped the monitor at a surreal angle

Perhaps super 8mm is in some technical form Knightly but ive never seen s8mm look anything like 1080HD!!! Yeah technically he's right. I've never thought of it like that before! Although remembering that film doesn't work in pixels, it's just an approximate equivilant. But of course 8mm is exactly ...

RE: Use Xbox in a "render-farm" to lower the rende

Well firstly you can connect the Xbox to the PC via a router (Xbox's have a standard network port), although you'd probably need a modded Xbox to do anything other than play official games

Other than that, no idea sorry!

In the middle of making an extended trailer, as it were, to drum up a bit of interest (I like to think it's a Within the Woods to the Evil Dead ;) )

Don't really want go give away the plot with a whole film though

Naughty Soldiers is back on!

Yeah, ya heard me! After much talking and what not, we've decided to go ahead with Naughty Soldiers! Although we'll be starting from scratch (we were making it as 19 year olds, now we're 23) we plan on making it bigger and better with a bigger budget, better actors, better script and all round a bet...

RE: Videos Taken Off Youtube?

There might be an email address you can appeal to (there was when I uploaded some BBC footage that was taken down)

Failing that, try extending the clip, or mirroring/grading the footage so it's different to what you uploaded last time

True! Nothing worse than watching a horror film where you think you've seen everything before
