RE: DivX Installer installs also Google Toolbar!
Install XVID instead. I think that can decode DivX as well if you specify it during the install. XVID is slowly killing DivX because it is opensource and free whereas DivX is a commercial product.

When we came to sort out the ending we had a few issues. Originally the idea was to show the car exploding. Thats what everyone was expecting right? But we thought that seeing the explosion would be a bit to final. So we decided on the white out. We tried the white out with an explosion but decided ...

RE: Rocket Launcher
The rocket launcher in the showcase was used in Meet The Locals. It was very basic. It was made from a section of green plastic drain pipe. The handle was a bit of broom screwed to the drain pipe using a metal L bracket. The flip up sight was a metal hinge used on kitchen cupboards. The lettering wa...

Thanks for all the comments. I don't think I can disagree with anything that has been said. Constructive critism taken on board :) Render Error - The DVD is fine. For some reason I lost the link to one of the explosions when I rendered the WMV files. The files have now been fixed and replaced. Music...

Damn, damn, damn. Didn't really check the file before I uploaded it :) I blame Adobe Premiere and its bloody offline files. How many times does it want me to tell it where my files are?? Rendering new files now although it is a stupid time in the morning so will have to make sure they are ok before ...

RE: Tank
Without a real tank you may need to do all three! Its still going to be difficult to make it look real. You may have to use a model/bluescreen for distance shots and maybe something bigger for your actors to lean against. For example a mock-up of a section of track made from wood which your actors c...

The only problems you might run into is if the Xvid has an AC3 soundtrack which in some tools results in audio sync problems.

closeoutstuff.com Avoid. They break a few of my golden rules when buying from websites 1) They use a normal ISP email address rather than a proper domain name. For any sort of business that is unprofessional. 2) No postal address stated 3) Paypal suggests this is run from someones bedroom 4) Stupidl...

New Graphics Card
I just bought a new graphics card from eBay. Its a Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro. My old graphics card wasn't too bad but now I can play Half Life 2 in full quality mode. Also Counter Strike Source looks better. Anyone here play Counter Strike? I've also juts bought the 3D Studio Max 7 Bible. Its over a ...

3) Hollywood is quicktime based, your trailer is wmv. Change it. So what? Hollywood is lots of things. Most of them rubbish! Why follow what Hollywood does? Sounds like a bitter Mac user to me ... 11)you're shooting on MiniDV, which is almost impossible for model/green screen work. Wrong! I think t...

RE: eJay 360 Soundtraxx - A good choice?
I used eJay 360 Soundtraxx for the music for Hollow Point. I think it is quite fun. Obviously your tracks have a certain eJay sound but if you are not a real musican (I'm not!) then it is quick and easy to put together. I think I bought the software for £3-£4 so it is realllly cheap! A whole s...

A quick search on Google Groups indicates they are a scam site. They make you pay extra for batteries and chargers and if you are lucky (having been overcharged by this point) you *may* get a camera at the end of it. Avoid. They are selling a single miniDV tape for 15 dollars. What a joke! To be hon...
