Thanks, I'll take those bits of advice. However, one thing that really sucks is that when you show it to a group of friends, they will laugh the whole way through if it involves actors that they too are friends with, no matter how scary it is. (ie: oh, look how stupid he looks in tat costume) It tot...

A little advice, don't promote PtoP file sharing on the forum, it could get matt in trouble. Anyway, if you are looking for a legal way to get these programs, just check out magazines like DIGIT, etc. every month. They sometimes give away programs like these for free!!! (Why? I don't know) :D

horror films

Has anyone tried to do a scary movie, I mean SCARY, not one of those things that you think will be scary, but ends up getting laughs in the end. If you did get people to scream, wet their pants, etc, I would really appreciate it if you could give me some tips! :D

cr**! blender is just as complicated as max and lightwave! Guess you can't get simplicity that a novice user like me needs without something like cinema 4D, too bad it costs a load of money! :(

Windows Media Player and Win XP

Has anyone else had the problem of windows media player on Windows XP not being able to play streaming video? Whenever I click on a movie, and it opens in Win Media, it comes up with an error that it cannot be played. Media 9 Series does the same. If anyone else has this problem, or knows how to fix...

If you have a program like combustion, you can rotoscope the soldiers body, create a new layer, and then duplicate the rotoscoped body to give the effect of two or more people. I don't know if you can do this in AE though. Or if you want to do it lo-tech style, you can always stuff some uniforms wit...

3D effects

Does anyone know where I can find a free modeling/animation program thats free, becuase I don't want to spit out the money for 3DsMax or Lightwave, but I also don't want anything that is so complicated that it's rocket science (which I know a lot of the free programs are) I doubt there is anything, ...

Posting a movie on FTP seems like a good Idea. However, my computer somehow set your first download site as a remote network connection. I just discovered it today (of course I didn't know what it was) Thought someone had hacked my comp. LOL

Need help with dimensions and aspect ratio

I know I may sound stupid after being into digital video for a few years, but could somebody explain why the video dimensions (720x480 NTSC or 720x576 for pal) stay the same on the "video properties" menu when I open up my editor even though I change the aspect ratio to 16:9? Why does the ...

You can achieve a lot in Vegas. Even though the interface may look a little "simplistic" (which turned me off at first), after a while of using it, I found that the phrase "you can't judge a book by it's cover" always comes back to kick you. It allows High Def editing and 5.1 sur...

After starting this thread, I did a little more searching and found something that everyone may like. If you subscribe to http://www.videometry.com , you can download a free high quality clip every week. It may take a while to compile a stock footage library, but hey, who has all the money to spend ...

If your capturing utility allows you to take "still" snapshots of the video as you're capturing it on your PC, you could take a pic every 30 or so seconds and then put them side by side in Premiere.

STOCK FOOTAGE

Anyone know where to get FREE stock footage thats high quality (not the 320x240 pixelated garbage)? I've searched for months, but of course when you type in "free stock foorage" in a search engine you get that annoying little word "royalty" before free in the results, with a $300...

Great link

Doesn't surprise me that you havn't gotten any replies, because not many people realize how great Vegas is, so they're all out wasting money on premiere! ;) Anyway, a great site for vegas plugins is www.debugmode.com . It has 5 video FX, and a transition plugin that makes vegas integrated with WinMo...
