yeah, 16 bit is better, and 24 bit is starting to come into the mainstream too.

RE: Sound advice.

For a radio sound, just reduce the bitrate, and save it as a low quality wav.

Also a note to people looking for prosumer software: Please check out vegas before you get premiere. Everyone by default just buys premiere because everyone uses it, but I have used vegas for 3 years and can say myself that it is a very capable editor, and is a serious rival to premiere. Anything yo...

RE: WHY EVEN USE THIS!!!

You can do bullet hits in combustion, but it takes a real pro to make it look good, and most productions do the real thing rather than digital.

I was thinking of trademarking my studio name but it's not cheap and it's a lot of hassle. I've put that on hold for now.

Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: New Halo Marine Flick

Relax guys. This in sn AMETURE film site. Most of us don;t have that kind of money to spend on a film....and even if we did we wouldnt (probably), unless we were talking back in some cash. Now, for my WWII films, ive probably spend 2000 bucks and it doesnt look like sh*t. You'd be amazed at what a ...

Not bad, some of the audio spiked way into the red (crackling) and i've always had a gripe about zooming in too quickly during a shot, but other than that good job. liked the music too

Whatever you do, please do not do this on a really low budget, because without decent costumes, it will just look wierd.

RE: Combustion? Bullet hits!

Took me a few months to master combustion, but it is cabpable of amazing things, and is a little more capable than AE. As far as doing a bullet hit, you can do it with particles, but if u don't want it to look fake, i would do the real deal, with a squib. And you can't do it in the trial period, bec...

Not bad, a little stability issue with the tracking if you look closely, but that is just an over-analysis, great job!

RE: anybody?

Welcome to MH! I'd be happy to help you out. I use combustion instead of after effects, but the concept is similar, so I'll try my best. All you need to do is take your footage, and put it on the bottom track. Then, take another copy of the footage, and overlay it on top. Then, increase the size of ...

RE: Slow motion #2

Slo mo like that is done by shooting around 48 or 72 fps, 2 and 3x 24p. To do this you would need a professional camera (not DV, but film). The closest you can get w/ dv is to use an app called RealViz ReTimer Pro, which uses frame interpolation, and will set you back about $350.

If anyone thinks about making a halo movie I wouldn't go into it with anything less than $10,000 +, most likely more, because attempting something on that scale with a low budget will look funny and most likely will not turn out well. For example, to do a good halo movie you would need a warthog, ma...
