RE: My thoughts...

Have3 read the screenplay and looks very promising. "a steel helmet really protect a body from a grenade? My first thought when I read this was that the helmet would be ripped into several large pieces of shrapnel as the grenade exploded. Bullets can puncture a steel helmet, so theoretically, a...

RE: Re: RE: whats the best way

Do you actually ned to show them in the air? If not then just get a cheap old army parachute from an army surplus store, and get your actor to jump off a stepladder or tall tree with an army rucksack and ropes/cord attached to the parachute which then lands on him before he gathers it up etc. If you...

RE: Movies, mandane to spectacular

Ok I agree with the second one, I turned up the speakers and It gave me a shock! *I cant think of any director directly, but I have no sense for style unless I see the two films next to each other. They did however remind me of the Trailer style of film *In the second one, the music was very immpres...

RE: Time Travel Suicide

Thats crazy, but opens the ultimate paradox... if you kill yourself you cant then go back in time to kill yourself so you would still be alive, but if you were still alive then you could go back and kill yourself. Things seem so clear at 1am after an essay on Machiavelli... It is excellent, It gets ...

The way they did it on War of the worlds was similar to how maj Barnes describes. I think it would be cool to mix in with the 'smoke/ash' some footage of wire wool burning to make that blade look - consumed by an inner fire... The burning flecks in blade can also be done by burning shisha/nagila cha...

RE: Using small models?

Make sure you get the focus right on the buildings in the forground, even slight blurs will mark it as a model. It is also worth setting each block of buildings in eg. a city, as different plates and then giving them a progressivly faded look. (By blocks I mean foreground, tyhen midground, then back...

Sorry, it was a stupid question without seeing the sequence. The shots are part of a long sequence entering renaissance bristol, where the camera goes towards the city. Will post the rest of the sequence and more info on the film over the next week.

Speaking as a race that would not exist had the germans won the second world war, I feel I must disagree in the heaviest sense. The Germans treated the estonians only slightly better than the Russians did and had the Nazis won the war, the Estonians would have been for the chop quite soon, The Nazis...

That would be pretty tempting, when will filming start? I f you have a need for 19 year old people standing at the back or as dead people (I can fail to move better thatn anyone I know, must be the pre-essay laziness). In terms of the soviet uniforms, they went through so many different patterns pre...

Black and white houses

Just trying to figure out how to make cheap indoor sets of B&W houses, and thought of this: White 'wattle and Daub' - even squares/triangles of cardboard covered with a couple of layers of watered down polyfilla (the powder you use to fill cracks) and then spraypaint white before rubbing either ...
