RE: Easy $40 Camera Dolly
Apart from the auto exposure etc, that panning shot looks amazingly professional!

I suffer from a similar thing. But what usually happens is that we cut it a lot shorter against our will, and it turns out better

Looking good though!
Not sure if it needs to be 4 minutes long. Even scanning through the whole thing over 5 seconds shows a lot of similar shots

And if you're feeling half arsed, just chromakey out the black or white, instead of the green or blue
(although I imagine the results aren't too fantastic)

RE: Vomiting
Yeah sorry, the nozzle. Your hose idea might work (dunno why you'd need to have it coming out of the sprayer) however!
The only other way I can think of (which is probably how they do it in the movies) is by attaching a vomit-filled tube to some form of compressed air

RE: Vomiting
If you take the spray off you get a nice constant flow! We used it for this sketch (which you probably shouldn't watch if you're a young'un or afraid of man love) <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/DlgasM65SQs"...

Slow After Effects
For some reason my playback on After Effects has slowed down. I think it's an option I've changed rather than a hardware problem, because I'm still using the same hardware which works fine in other programs I've upped the RAM for playback and lowered it to no affect. I've also played around with the...

RE: Re: RE: snowfall test- does this look like winter?
Alright then, ANY camera wouldn't pick up the fine drops ;) There's a difference between cameras and eyes, and usually an effects artist would go about making effect shots look like they were shot in camera. Motion blur is applied to effect shots because cameras pick up motion blur (thanks to them w...

It's 25 for PAL versions, and 24 for NTSC. I wouldn't get the HV20 over the HC7 based solely on 24p mode, though. Firstly, you have to have a software that can handle a 24p timeline/workflow. I also read that a lot of people are having problems with the 24p mode on the camera, doing the 3:2 pulldow...

RE: snowfall test- does this look like winter?
I think the only giveaway is the fake snow, which is nearly spot on anyway! I'd blur the snow that's close to the camera because a DV camera would never pick up fine drops in front of the camera like that I'd also limit the snow to the odd flake as you're in the forest! Just a hint of a falling flak...

Re: RE: Color Correction Tests
Realistic would usually be probably just a hint of yellow, a hint of saturation and the blacks 'crushed' ever so slightly (maybe using curves to bring out the mid tones a bit) Now add a dash of story and place it in the oven for 15 mins. at 350 Ha ha! This post is one of my top ten posts of all tim...

No, its a proper channel 4 TV program.... That's network TV. Please remember that not everyone lives in the UK, Pete1234 ;) Saying that though, if you were filming something for network TV, why are you building a crane when you could rent one? (This isn't me being a peni5, just asking!) In regards ...
