Actually, aaron, he's making a play, so it's original (at least on this board)!
But I'm with you on amatuer war films in general. Bah. Overdone and most of 'em are done poorly.

Yes. They are. And I agree completely. You're not gonna pay $500 or however much Premiere costs these days without knowing enough about the program to either Google effectively or just already know how to mask. There IS the 30 day trial that ANYONE would use before buying, after all. Anyway, even if...

Good idea, Kentertainment--but I doubt if large chunks of debris would still be falling a week after the blast. Here's how I'd do it, and mind, it'll be a huge mess, and I have no idea how you're gonna clean it up. You're gonna want a lot of dry, dusty dirt, and then have people off-camera chucking ...

Nothing near so impressive as UFP, but balancing on a sort of half-wall (except it's eight or nine feet tall and about two feet across the top; I call them plant shelves but I have no idea if that's the right name or not), over an L shape in the wall, balancing with a foot and hand on one side of th...

RE: Adding audio ?
Glad you appreciated the tutorial--there's no pics because I wrote it up in about ten minutes' time :D. Bodysnatcher, I'm not sure I entirely understand your question. Are you saying you have a seperate audio recording of the play, or that you want to to record the lines now and dub them over the or...

Re: RE: Car chase test
Ha ha! You could nearly get away with inserting those shots with shots of real cars. Nice work! Indeed. It looked very nice--do a bit of work with some scaled terrain and you'll never have to actually film "real cars" for chase sequences. I'm gonna have to play around with toy cars now :D

I just wrote a tutorial on this, actually: http://deadsignalfilms.com/soundpt1.html . If you need clarification on any of that, by all means, ask me, and I'll answer and then revise the tutorial.

RE: Re: RE: "The Next Job" A Kentertainment Pictur
I have a comment: that was awesome! The shattered glass was a nice touch. The whole film--except for something I'm going to mention below--had a nice "professional" feel to it. The one thing that really bothered me was the exposure--the switching from light to dark and back and so forth wa...

That right there, Mr.Anderson, is a good idea. A sort of mini spud gun that you stuff a blood pack in (the usual latex type, of course) and then fire at the actor. It'd only work for body shots--too risky to aim at the head--, and, only from short range, but still, it seems to be a fairly inexpensiv...

This can go no-where but down, competing for which country contributed the most in WWII? Okay: Great Britian held out against incredible odds during the battle of Britain, never gave up and fought to the bitter end of the Third Reich and Imperialist Japan. America, though late in entering the war, ...

RE: getting schmucked with a Semi
The biggest problem, as I see it, is getting ahold of a semi truck, but that's just my take on it.
Anyway, like DEDFX said, see this thread for advice on pulling off the impact: http://www.matthawkins.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8552

Simulating Film DOF (And I'm not asking a question!)
I just found this excellent article (got it from hackaday) on simulating film depth of field. . . and basically all it requires is an old portable CD player and one of those dummy clear CDs they stick at the top of CD-R boxes. http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/dof/index.htm . I'm definitely going to...

As a novelty item, it'd be kinda cool. As a camera for any kind of serious work, it would suck.

Photoshop: excellent results, a bit more time. Editing program: passable results, less time. Advantage: Photoshop. Besides which, if you export/import filmstrip, it won't take much more editing time to do them properly in Photoshop anyway. Also, just because you don't have excellent source quality d...

RE: SWAT Movie DISERVICE is Available
LOL! I loved it. Very original, and definitely very funny. I'm shocked you did it in 48 hours, and even more shocked that I have no criticism! It was just brilliant. I think the hot tub raid was the best--you need to be writing comedy in Hollywood, this is far better than a lot of the so-called come...
