Hahaha, I'm a reenactor.
You don't want the buckles on the inside, otherwise they will get caught on each other! They look like they fit pretty well. I like your look-alike shoes. Have fun!

The Nazis have Sig assault rifles nooooo
Actually this is on my thread, for Deathsquad in member films, but in case u didnt notice it, i said we were using costume items for that, (when that weird modern war movie is complete) for an actual ww2 film project.
Anwyay this isnt the ww2 pic, but just to show off an as yet uncustomised swedish jacket, and mountain cap.
Note all swedish jackets (we got 20 of them) are from the actual 1940s hehe

lol! Hey u know its just a stumgwehr 90 er...
Yeah well ur right about pouches their just mosig nagant pouches lol, but thing is tho, im loading up these dudes on loads of stuff, cos for the film there are like 20 of them, (he's just 1 of that 20)
But for the actual ww2 film these guys i'd adapt their jackets with german insignia, (cos im leaving them blank more or less for the current stylised modern weird film im doing)
(theres some new pre-production conceptual artwork in the thread too!)

The swedish jackets are, as an american would say, awesome, even the colour very closely resembles German, (so much so that it would not be worth dying - for the fuss, and risk of shrinkage and etc.)
Plus i have 20! of the german 'cut' jackets, however, when it comes to making a ww2 one, i still have the prob of having to get em' or making insignias, and well the buttons are a pain in the a***. They have same kinda buttons except (and this is a big exception) they have 3 little swedish crowns on each! lol
So I'd probably have to replace all the bloody buttons ARGH, But heres something that will rock yer boats.
All the jackets, are listed from 1940 - 1948 in dates of production! so their darn old too (the guys are heavy jackets too - very heavy)

i have been trying to purchase some german jack boots to complete my german officier impression but everywhere i look the shoes are extremely small, Uk5 most of the time, half of what i am, is there anywhere else that sells replica shoes cheaply in the UK?

HEY jack boots! I need a pair, myself. But Lawriejaffa's right, they ARE freakishly pricey. I wear size 12 and have had a darned time finding anything at all in that size. When I do, it's around $150+ asking price!!! If only I wore 2 or 3 sizes smaller, I can find those anywhere for $50.
And the German (Nazi?) photo is really perverted. haha

I have a problem. I bought four pairs of surplus WWII leggings or "spats" as they are somtimes called. My problem is that none of them will fit around my leg! I tried all pairs, and they are plenty big around my ankle but the dont come shut farther up on my leg. Im not overweight at all. So im wondering if i jsut got small pairs? Or are they supposed to be open at the top?

Remember, there are 3 basic sizes used in WW2: 1R, 2R, and 3R. More than likely you've got a set of 1Rs, which should be for the smallest of calfs. 2Rs and 3Rs are the most common sizes, figure medium and large. They should fit like these leggings in this demo image I made:
