RE: Zombie Question
hmmm many ways. Depends how you want them to rise. You could simply have the actor covered up in a shallow pit and he rises up himself either vertically or from a horizontal position. We need more details

if you have lots of time you could build a platform, put dirt, grass, gravstone, etc. on it and make it look like the ground. Then have your actor crouch down behind it and stand up. You could cover him in dirt or cut a hole in the middle of the platform for different effects. Just work with it, experiment and if you find something that really works let us know.

Yeah, I'd go with an idea like SpyroClones, but build the bottom of the box with very thin plastic that the actor can push up through, so the dirt will stay in and not pour out everywhere when he comes up. Either that or bury them in a shallow grave with spongy material like moss and some dirt. Watch "Thriller" to see what I mean.

Im going to make a zombie movie where the water supply in a small town gets infected and the people who drink it turn into zombies go away at human flesh yadayad but a small group of people who ban to gether but start to turn on each other and the last ones in the group to survive till the zombie totally decay and they are some of the last survivors of earth. thats why i need the zombie comming out of the ground because one old man dies right after he drinks the water they bury him and durng the sermon his hand busts out of the ground and enter a good ole zombie feasting scene. so what do you think?
Haha this movie sounds like 28 Days Later or something like that where Europe is consumed by Zombies in 28 days. Well, I dont know what equipment you have so I'll suggest the most primitive method. You could always film from a lower angle with the ground higher than it actually seems. (i.e. film from the edge of a small depression) then have your actor squat in the pit and on your cue 'come out of the ground'. I have no idea what you have in mind or what context your film is in so its up to you haha.

I meant 28 Days Later - Not 28 Days starring Sandra Bullock. In 28 Days Later, Europe is infected with a virus which turns its populations into zombies which move damn fast (Not like those lumbering losers from Resident Evil). Think Outbreak coupled with Reign of Fire and other flicks which depict countries being destroyed by some hapless accident or wierd agent.
