Black and white houses

Just trying to figure out how to make cheap indoor sets of B&W houses, and thought of this:

White 'wattle and Daub' - even squares/triangles of cardboard covered with a couple of layers of watered down polyfilla (the powder you use to fill cracks) and then spraypaint white before rubbing either an old used teabag or rubbing it in the dirt for a bit.

Black beams - cheap fence poles or mdf with cracks cut in, painted or stained dark brown with the possibility of black spraypaint

Leaded windows - sheets of the transparencies that you use with an OHP machine, and then use a glue gun to make raised diamond shapes, then using clear double sided tape stick to window then spread vaseline in the diamonds to get that 'thick glass' look.

I will have to try these out and I will take photos if successful.
