RE: ETAS film intro
I just watched it with no sound (because my work computer doesn't have speakers), while some song called House of Mombo played over our sound system (Don't ask me who picked the station this morning). I thought it was alright. Maybe the effect was lost because I had no sound, but I think that you did the close up on the guns while shooting way to often. I'd rather see some close ups on you guys rather than a bunch of gun close ups.
Go effort though, keep it up!

First off, I don't think there's a problem with anyone trying to do a war film. What I can't stand is someone wasting my time with something they claim is great. If they're looking for comments, fine, but otherwise I'd rather watch something else.
As for your clip, sound seems to be a major issue. The heartbeat seems to cut-off with a click and many of the weapon sounds sound very dubbed in. Now, while some cannot be helped, such things as racking the slide back you are probably better off recording yourself. Even if it is just a cheap plastic pistol. That or find a better sound. Personally, the whole cocking of any weapon right before they began shooting is rather absurd. Any professional carries their pistol/SMG/rifle "peni5 and locked" well before they hit the battlefield/storm the building. All weapons are meant to have a round chambered - that's how we carry our M16's when we're out, thats how every cop I know carries his weapon. That's also why you have a safety. While there are certain times this is not true, Hollywood gets it completely wrong time and time again.

U.S. Air Force. Active Duty. During BASIC, yeah, we didn't chamber rounds until right before we went on a mock patrol. My father is a marine and several of my other relatives and friends are in the Marines or Army. A few just got back from Iraq. My father was there during the early part of the war, and their smallarms were always charged, even in basecamp, though their vehicle mounted weapons were not. Now that more formal establishments have been constructed, they do not charge their weapons until just before going out (though there is always a loaded magazine inserted).

Im 19, not really the TA, OTC,officer training corps at uni, going (hopefully) to sandhurst in 2008 to go on to the Royal Armoured Corp, 2nd RTR. I may be going in may for a week of 'rioting' against the current sandhurst cadets (William and Harry included) for their civilian disturbance control training. How I hope I can miss the week of Uni!

Yea, some of the stuff was kinda crappy. Not really much on the camera angles. Too many shots were far away, bring them in closer. Also the shells were good, except the rifle case being ejected from a pistol, .
Also, Ii didn't really notice a click at the end of each heartbeat.
And I'll send you some gun cocking sounds, and others. (What happened to all the others I sent you? Why didn't you use them?)

yo maj, i had actually made this video quite a while ago before you sent me the sounds, but i will be using them,
and also we made sure we used a 9mm shell case on the pistol so...., the heartbeat sounds are the only ones i had so had to make do
good on ya going into the royal amoured mate

I would have to say attention to detail. The close up of the AK style weapon shows that even though it on semi the guy holding the weapon is not pulling the trigger??
All in all I enjoyed it, the heart beat was a good touch, but would like to have heard it throughout ther intro, (I only knew what it was from reading the other comments)

i think some of you guys are way to bothered about the fine details i can understand comments about timing of the weapon motions and sounds etc but in such a quick moving action film is it realy worth dwelling on these issues
i thought it was realy good and look forward to the finished piece but i think you need to make sure your weapons dont have any features which you can identify as being a toy. i also realy liked the bit where the fella was shooting the AK looked realy cool

i noticed after i put it on my pc that i was not pulling the trigger, i was concentrating on dropping the shell cases, thanks for the comments
and i have never touched exposure, not sure what it is and how to change it, anyone
thanks bulldog, fine details i will work on though
