Victor Von Doom Effect-----> Well sort of
Here's a new effect added to my website. I was just bored the other day. This took like an hour and a half to make (thats including filming). Have a look:

That looked very nice, did you make the lighting effect on the face and all or was that just a strobe light, etc. Where you the person who made the Nightcrawler from X2 effect as well?
RE: Victor Von Doom Effect-----> Well sort of

The program I used was Adobe After Effects 6.5. The lighting effect was a small shop light that I flicked on off rapidly to simulate the lightning effect. The lightning itself was created in After effects using the "advanced lightning" under effects--->Render and ajusting the glow and core colors. Also there looks like a particle cloud or hazy effect that appears to fluctuate around the hands which was created in Adobe Photoshop using the clouds filter and then animating them in After effects. The sound effects were ripped directly from the Fantastic Four DVD. The classical music score was taken from the soundtrack as well. Song title is "Bye Bye Ned." I may do a video tutorial as well. As for the nightcrawler effect, that was done by Fig Chrystie over at the Jedi Council Fan forums. Thank you for the comments guys.

i dont know which is worse your acting or the effect... the practical lighting is smart thinking those tricks like that always make something interact with the scene way better. which is a good thing to get into the habbit of
Muzzle Flashes, Bullet Time, Lightsabers, Buffy Vampire Effects, War Films.... Ahhhhh!

Wow!!! I didn't know that if you post special effects test on here that it has to be quality like the stuff that ILM does or WETA!!! I wasn't going for an academy award in special effects or acting either!! ITS CALLED A SPECIAL EFFECTS TEST. A PREVIEWLIZATION!! NOT A HOLLYWOOD SHORT. So like were are some of your video clips??aaronv2 wrote:i dont know which is worse your acting or the effect... the practical lighting is smart thinking those tricks like that always make something interact with the scene way better. which is a good thing to get into the habbit of

I was trying to make the smoke fluctuate. What I should have done was kept the smoke going inward.maj_barnes wrote:I thought it looked good, but the smoke in the beginning looked fake but as it went on it looked more real. I don't know why, maybe it was the direction of it, like it sucks inward then changes outward. But towards the end in the closeup you barely notice the direction change.

I only did the 2 fingers because they were the most visible in the shot. Actually I thought just having 2 lightnings would be enough. I didn't want to over do it.Bugalicious wrote:hey that looked very cool. just one thing though.. should the lightning only go from 2 fingers in his hand... or would doing it with all 5 look over done? otherwise i liked it alot... keep up the good work...
