vampire ashings

Post by rhys »

Now, to actually create the ashings, preferribly with premiere, or after effects (im too lazy and its too hard to do), i want it to sorta look like smoke but thinner and above all NO static pictures, i hate that in movies.

vampire ashings

Post by rhys »

I have found one website,
http://www.galaxy-cities.com/Earth/slay ... epage.html
it requires 3d studio max and i dont have it, I WANT IT, but im 13, cant get a job and dont have $3000 US dollars. As a matter of fact, at the moment i owe my mum $135 for an mp3 player i just bought, and $105 soon so i can get vampire contacts for halloween and my movie.

" i want it to sorta look like smoke but thinner and above all NO static pictures, i hate that in movies."

well thats great you know what you want... so your not the effects artist are you. so go find someone and hire them and pay them to do this for you.

otherwise if you are and effects artist and you wrote "(im too lazy and its too hard to do)"

then i hope you fail MISERABLY

just some thaughts... and if you cant pay someone to do it for you and your too lazy to do it yourself then you might probably just have to give up.

yes i dont mind creating effects althogh this computer is annoying, my dad keeps unistalling my programs, and u keep c**p in on about how damn much i must suck. The other computer has 140gb memory or something but its as slow as a snail thats shell has been crushed. to get premiere to start on that computer it would take about 5 mins just to get up. where this computer is fine i dont have to render footage i just captured on here then i go out there and it takes about 2 mins to render 20 seconds. and i am continueuously annoyed like this every day so i am suppost to make these movies in 30-40 degree heat with a computer that would take 9 years to render 1 hour, i dont exactly see that it is that fair. We just gave our other computer away thinking that the other computer would be faster because its a pentium 4 but no, its 4 times slower. i cant go on this computer, its great for editing and stuff, he doesnt even have any programs exept for his anti virus ones "whats anti virus gonna do if all your doing is using that?" it makes me extremely frustrated. if he actually spent 5 DOLLARS ON THAT I WOULD RECONSIDER KILLING HIM!!!!!
im jokin but not haha ok, so shut up about any comments like that.

I was thinking about trying to do something like the War of the Worlds puffs:

I thought that I could take the cannon ball hits from Detfilms and then mess around with the colors to get that ashy look. Blur the clip alot so when the smoke goes out of frame it'll won't look like it is, since the blur will cause the edges to expand some.

Then speed up the clip for the start to get that kind uphm look to it, and the rest in regular motion. And try to morph the body into the smoke, or put more of it in to cover up the body. But the clothes I was thinking of bluescreening in.
why didnt we just fight the aliens with our clothes i bet it was their only weakness
I think it was only suppost to be used against organic material, and the beam itself had alot of force to it so it was able to push stuff around. But hey, that's Hollywood.

what do you mean organic. cotton is organic... what are you doing trying to make logic out of it for? It was obviously used for the dramatic imagery, Speilberg remember? haha not even a scientist and your trying to work out the molecular mechanics of an alien laser beam... if it even is a laser.

My god thats horrible. The image quality could be better. The muzzle flash is half a** and its too big. Its not even pointing in the same direction as the gun. And whats with the black around the flash??? Some kind of a poor attempt at creating a rip in the space time continueum??? My advice for you is to go back and redo this clip.... NEXT!!

Hey! Why does it matter? People won't notice it's only being shown for about 2 frames.

Besides, I'd like to see you do better! That's the power of bitmap and WMM combined! You heard me: combined!

The way they did it on War of the worlds was similar to how maj Barnes describes. I think it would be cool to mix in with the 'smoke/ash' some footage of wire wool burning to make that blade look - consumed by an inner fire...
The burning flecks in blade can also be done by burning shisha/nagila charcole.
