Spray effect...

You could try masking in the title with after effects, have an animated paint stroke randomly go over the top of the title until full and then use that as a matte. EASY!

Film someone spraying spray paint at a blue screen. And when you make your title take out the blue and make it look like the spray is making the letters

Lets say you type in the title in black, and the background of the compostion is black. Now, take the paintbrush tool and set it for where ever you move the brush in a certain time it will paint there for that time. Make the paintbrush white, and move it all over the title (on the background layer) so what appears is a stencil (sp?) of the title. You could even throw in some lines around it to give it a better stenciled look.

Ok heres what I did. Went into Corel Painter and Made a nice looking spray paint array. Like a solid square of paint but since corel painter makes it look real you get the anomalies of real spray paint like wet edges and stuff like that.

Took that into After effects and then applied a "vector paint" effect to the spray paint image and set it to "animate Strokes" and change the size and hardness to suit your look. It should look like its being sprayed on from side to side. Then all you need to do is create your design in a black and white design to use as a track matte.

That should work just fine.... however i have made one where you create a PSD with the layer of paint then using a selection as your "stencil" jump the pixels to a new layer (ctrl+j) and that layer represents the stencil. when you vector paint copy the filter and paste it to the other layer then when the animation is finished you can animate the stencil to lift up with the paint still on it .... sorta tony hawk style. anyway the little 5 minute job ive done i put on youtube...

You dont need corel... Okay I can help you make this if you have after effects...
http://www.1001fonts.com/fonts_overview ... egory_id=9
Goto this website and download any graffiti font you like...

Take it into after effects and type the text you want using text tool or whatever.

Draw a line using the pen tool designing the way your grafitti will be written usually like cursive writing.

Add the "write-on" plugin to the layer and adjust settings to your desires.

Copy the "Mask Shape" channel and paste the data into the "Brush Position" data in the write on plugin.

change the setting to "Reveal Original Image" I think it is.

Your done... just make sure your brush size is relativley big and feathered like hell or else it will look a little stupid.
