It's an adaptation of an old legend but in modern creature-feature style. We made this short for constest and we won in "Best Directing" cathegory. Actors are 11 y.o. the rest of the crew was 7-11 y.o.
Hey Santi long time no see come round here more often!
Great to see you teaching kids the essentials- good camera work, good lighting and ofcouse a good script. The 'nerd' really stole the show he was quiet good.
Hey PDJ...
Thanks for positive review. One of the kids wrote the script ( this "troublemaker" who realesed basilisk) and I polished it a bit, removed most of adults (lack of actors and I did't want to use "kids-pretending-adults" style).
Janek "the nerd" is my best actor. He's a real nerd, bookworm... very archetypical He knows every myth or legend from Greece to North Pole but have problems with tying his shoes
I've been sick so haven't had a chance to reply eariler..
Santi the monster is so old school i love it! It has an 80's inspired feel to it like something out of 'My Steph Mom's an Alien!".. Did you do all the black and white shots in post or did you make a dole that was gresyscale as i recall seeing a mooving shot of the monster in grey..? Correct me if im wrong
Thanks. I made it in my garage. It's my first puppet that big and it was full of glitches but I'm proud of it anyway. Although there is only head seen in the film it's 2 meters long (with tail) and has legs. I was feeling like some damn Stan Winston (for poor ones). I love old school puppet monsters. This is my personal "tribute" to all of this monsters movies.
Yup.. all black and white shots of petrified ones are made in post. Thats only CG trick in whole film.
wow! that was really quite good! well done! i loved the look of the basilisk, and i liked the red light eyes, nice. the acting was nice, and the story was clever, i liked the professor's name!
well done.
