I like it. But the positioning of the blood on his left cheek looks strange. But I like the color. What did you use for it?

if you look at my vids you will see i do quite alot in that field recently, only real good shooting location near me, and i used golden syrup, red and blue food colouring, some hot water, then afterwards i just add about half a tea spoon of sugar to thicken it, it took me a few attempts to get it gooey and the good colour however

the blooded nose looks the best, also not sure about the splash on the side of the cheek,

maybe lead it up to the ear or something, make it look like he's had his a$$ kicked

I wouldn't call it your own blood mixture, that recipe has been around for decades.

well, personnally, I don't think it's that bad... but when blood is spread thinly, you shouldn't use the corn syrup recipe; it has a tendency to bead up and look like strawberry jam, not really realistic if you ask me.

for thin coverage, like the blood on your cheek, if you can find some, substitute your corn syrup with liquid sorbitol. and you could even use hair gel! however, don't use liquid soaps as a base for vertical blood stains.. it'll glide right off.

for nose bleeding, use a thick mixture; corn syrup thickened up with more sugar or cabosil does the trick. you can also use for a thick blood gel toothpaste as a base. (use kid's cherry flavoured gel toothpaste... it's bright red!)

also, for more deepness and opacity, add a very small quantity of instant coffee, and a little corn starch. but not too much, or it'll be too milky. and next time, don't add water, there's no point to dilute it if you thicken it using more sugar!

so keep up practicing your blood, and you should get something pretty interesting!

yeah, corn syrup has a tendency to englobe the coloring particles, I don't know exactly why that is, but it screens it and only the syrup touches things apparently(but I don't really know what's going on with that substance) but when you dilute it, it loses this screening ability; so keep it thick if you don't want to stain stuff!

..and I don't know if I'm right, but I pretty much think it was just a test to see the look of the blood on skin, without any scenario involved.

Our WW2 reenactment group did an Okinawa (Pacific Theater) public demonstration two weeks ago. We fought the japanese on a hillside for 10 minutes using authentic uniforms and rifles. Of course, I was one of the select members to get shot and wounded, fake blood and all... I love audience reactions!

Yeah, thats no new mixture. The smudge against the face was noticably bad. I wanna do that, but with honey, and no hot water, to make it really thick like the blood gel.
