Most "Exotic" Location You've Filmed In

Post by TroubledCobraStudios »

i didnt see a topic about this so i decided to make one. What is the most exotic location you've filmed in? By exotic i mean like places that you wouln't normally shoot in or are somewhat hard to do.

i got the idea because yesterday my and my friend went to the local airport and just started walking around filming. it was hilarious because i was carrying a camera and he was walking around in a suit and wearing a fedora. we then went up to the car rental people and asked them if they could help us out by doing some "acting". anyway, thats the most "exotic" location ive filmed in...not to exciting but it was quite fun.

I'm filming at my work ina few day. An out door swimming pool. It's a chase through theback rooms with the pumps and ends with a fight on the high dive.

A sewer. And on a related note, I made a protective housing for my camera and did a POV shot from the inside of a toilette bowl...
Thanks,

I could sum it up right quick- What I did (with a pana PVGS-200 which is really small) is I got a large, clear, salad bowl and placed the camera laying slanted across the bottom and aiming up. I then took saran wrap and wrapped it over the top twice, very tightly. Finally, I drained the toilette to where it had minimal water inside and set the salad bowl housing camera in the toilette. My actor then proceeded to vomit potatoe soup onto saran wrapped camera. :D It's in the opening of a movie I did quite some time ago (which is really bad  ). In our film Trepidation we had to film a scene in the sea. So I was in the sea in a Dry suit, attempting to hold the dinghy still, whilst my Director of Cinematoghraphy filmed our actor. Pictures 5 and 6 show the location.

Just yesterday I was doing some screentests in a Dene-hole. Its roughly 30feet underground, accessable only through a slip hole from one of the collapsed chambers.

Unfortunately a tree had fallen and was blocking most of the hole. We ended up having to slide down the slip off slope flat on our backs, grasping rope to ensure we didnt get caught and trapped.

It was really amazing to actually get into one though, most have been grated off and blocked up - this is the only accessable one in the South East of England (or so Im told). But after managing to get down the hole and into the chambers it really is quite something. Will be a great location for the film, although it is very cold and extremely dark. We had 4 torchers and 3 candles - no where near enough light so we pulled out the WD40 and soaked some old rags strapped them onto sticks and made flaming torches.

The space with that lighting is so creepy and intense, ill post pics later if anyones interested in seeing what it is.

Centralia PA, LOL the town that is no more... current population of 11, in fact the US Post Office revoked their zip code. The state owns all the properties legally, so those who still ive there are basically there illegally, but the state doesn't want the bad publicity of throwing them out.

Haven't gotten a chance to work on the editing yet, but still a rather desolate area in spots, in other areas absolutley beautiful. The town was in fact the inspiration for "Silent Hill" the gane/movie... We spent a Saturday there shooting for a couple of projects. One with a group of ghost hunters from Maryland... nope - no ghosts.....
