If this was a test for your external mic, I suggest one of three things: 1. Don't use it, because it didn't help. 2. Learn how to use it effectively. or 3. Get a better one, there was too much excess fuzz.
Please do not forget, that a main purpose for a film, is to act as a form of entertainment for the audience that is viewing it. This video, however, was not entertaining. Short films are short, yes, but, they also have substance, a plot, character interactions, something that drives the film. Freelancing is not often a term used in film making. Just keep this stuff in mind.
For the sake of your audience, improve upon your quality. There will always be critics, both positive and negative. However, the percentages of each will vary on the quality of your production.
Mickcar73..It's also great that you're taking the time to criticize his work. Even though you didn't enjoy his film, atleast have some respect for him, as someone who shares the same hobby of film making.
See that is a propper critisim post!
OK let me see, first excess fix on the mic? Maybe that was when we switiched to the camera mic (during the bit where he drank from the cup) but yeah I will improve on using it. It's vey high wuality by the way, especially compared to the camera mic we had been using, but because I had to film and do the sound we couldn't get the best result. That's probably why it was shaky.
And I know films are meant to entertain but this wasn't a full, propper film. I wanted people to comment, not on the storyline, but other issues.
Also I've been thinking and maybe I'll turn this into a propper medium / short film. I was thinking that, so maybe I will.
