I don't necessarily want to be a director for any movie. Each specific story, I might feel I would be better for the production by being dedicated to a different job. Cinematographer or purely a writer. For some of my scripts, I would just need to be the Director and Cinematographer, but occasionally, I feel like I should be dedicated to a different aspect. However I think I could contribute best to telling the story.

I like puzzles and challenging myself. Every time I direct, there is always a problem that has to be solved and though sometimes I just want to give up and I say I'm going to give up, I never do until there is absolutely no way that whatever it is that needs to be solved can be solved. So basically, I don't think I want to be a director...I want to be a director because it is a job that puts a puzzle in front of you that you can envision what it will look like when it's finished and you have to solve (with help of course) it in order to see that final outcome.

I would make the movie realistic, like it would happen in real life.
I would have the story so it is twisting, so the viewers are thinking one thing then all of a sudden it changes and it is not expected. it might go back to what they was thinking the first time. I would want the viewers to always be thinking about what is happening.
I would also try and make the movie so the viewers are kind of in the movie. What i mean by that is make it so the viewers are thinking of ideas and some of the ideas that the viewers are thinking are in the movie.
that is why they might hire me.

People don't always want that. Movies are about escapeism so even if things are trying to be realistic it's often a psudo-realism.tecmeister wrote:I would make the movie realistic
As for everything else you said, it's all kinda the point of every story to be honest!

It's all pretty subjective really. Sometimes I ask myself why anybody would want to be an assistant to Mr. "Whomever" or why somebody would want the job of keying out a greenscreen but it's what they like to do. I suppose the majority of people want to direct and I think partially here it's because not many of us have had the experience of having a crew larger than 5. But who knows, maybe that occupational path will be altered in the future. It's like a guy/girl going into a profession and finding out it's not cut out for them.
Id rather be in the action then watching it (lol, read that sentanse with porn in your head). I like to pretend to have emotions, it makes me feel good. Being a director seems kinda boring, but i guess it really depends on what movie you are making. Directors get paid alot more then actors, but id rather be happy at work then REALLY rich.

I'm willing to bet that a lot of those people who are assisat to Mr. "Whomever" are eather just looking for work or trying to move themsevles up the latter. But your defently right that there are many people that do really enjoy just having a good background job.Kentertainment wrote:It's all pretty subjective really. I hate digital s***!!!! I have a strong belief in this, alot of it looks pretty crappy or you can just tell its realy fake. Thats why I tend to use all live effects ( spfx NOT DFX THERE IS A DIFFERENCE). So I want to do fx but mainly make my own movies cause I want to make a movie I love and I dont care what alot of critics think, I make underground movies. Pm me if anyone wants any help on effects work, I can gladly help.
