The Fallen are Silent

Post by maj_barnes »

My entry for the True to John Woo comp- I don't think I did a good job of being true to him, besides a few things I copied from his movies and some of his trademarks. To tell you the truth I'm alittle hesitant to post this because it just seems so horribly bad. But hey whatever. Yes, there was originally a 50cal sniper in this, but due to people being gay I never got around to filming certain parts: so it was omitted. Why is it so short? Because the comp said it can only be two and a half minutes long.

Thank you YouTube for again raping the quality of my video. The upside is, we got to fire at least 70 blanks that day: which still sucks somewhat. Also for some reason my manual exposure wasn't working either- great.

Enjoy.

Funny thing, my friend when he first saw the title of this he just read it back to me like this. The Fallen are Silent... cause they're dead.

Color was great, effects were good. I wish you upped the voices a few dB, but maybe you wanted it that way to make the gun sounds stand out more.

I've had someone else say that: my problem was my crappy in camera mic. Were the last voices okay?

Yeah, I could hear them slightly better then. Great work on it! How much time did you spend shooting and editing?

Shooting took up about a 4hr afternoon, then the blue shots were about a 5min night. Editing was a hectic three hours till the deadline. :P I shouldn't have waited till the last minute.

aside from the voices being low, I feel the pain of stupid in cammera mics, it was really good. I like what you do with the color crection and your blood effects are really good, CG or otherwise. I look forward to seeing you make a bigger action movie.

Thanks.

I just ordered a shotgun mic about an hour ago, because I'm getting really fed up with s*** audio.
