Mine is not too complex, really...a simple Dell that gets the job done, a TV monitor for external viewing, a DVD player for transferring DVDs, and a capture device.

Multiple angles!

well I will spare you my messy apartment. I was sitting at work this morning thinking about this thread, and was wishing I had my cammera, just for giggles and clame that my edit bay at work was my home editting sweat. But I figured that all the bata tapes and mix of modern and 20 year old stuff, and software on the screan that nobody has ever heard of would give it away. Plus that might get me fired.

I just took pictures of my new office (moved one of the kids into my old office so I'd have more room...she was warned to keep it clean ;) ). I'll try to post those later today.

Not sure if people really want to see what other peoples computers look like! But I'd like to see peoples effect setups, studios, etc...

A basement with a wall painted blue, costumes rack, and containers with effects lighting and props, etc.

Woefully unprofessional, but tidy, and it gets the job done!

to kene

I thought that last picture would have been a modified storage box to make a fog machine lay low fog. Have you ever seen one of those?

I have not. How can I make one of those, I could use one at my friend's haunted house this fall.

I'll take some pictures of my work today, that might intrigue some people here.

Edit:

In the meantime, here's a picture of my little editing bay back at my pad. Nothing special.

And maybe I can get the cleanest desk award? Just kidding.

Like the Apple, Gyro. I remember there was a thread just like this a while ago. I'll post my setup soon (if I have a chance). It's very simple, mine is.

Alright, so finally got some time to put together an official post. Most of my editing and film equipment is done through my work, which used to be an apprenticeship, but now I run and manage the lab there. It's a student media oriented production company geared toward film and music. They've got a lot of sweet gear, so I thought I'd share a bit.

Image

Here's a bunch of editing bays. Two new Mac Pros and two old G5s.

Image

Some more editing bays, primarily directed toward music on this side.

Image

Some sound mixin' equipment.

Image

There's my office, with a little picture of some of the equipment.

Image

And some shelves and shelves of equipment.

I thought I'd throw this in for kicks. Just some gear I've got for myself.

Image

Here's the belt o' tools I take with me to every shoot. Just a grip belt set from Set Wear with a pouch and some gloves, got your standard light, knife, allen wrenches, gaffer tape, and whatnot in the pouch. Another knife outside. And my favorite of all tools: The Sekonic Dual Master L-558R Light Meter. Loads of hours of fun with that thing, and tons of improved work that's for sure. Oh, and the camera bag to the Nikon D40 I took all these photos with. Tell me what yall think.

I have an old light meter from the 80's that my dad handed down to me.

Barely use it. Probably should. It's no biggy when shooting on DV though.

Ah yes, thanks! :D I found the tutorial on here and decided it would make a nice weekend project. It was quite fun to do, and we added a magnet so that the magazine could detach and lock into place.

Only problem, during heavy use and shaking, the mag would sometimes fall out...good in the bloopers.
