No still no good. I have to adjust the flash on the screen and output a still to see where it is in realtion to the film. The do the process over and over again until correctly placed:mad:

Having you tried holding down the ALT key and then dragging the timeline marker left to right ? That tends to actually show stuff in the preview window that it doesn't bother with normally.
ie the bits you are usually interested in previewing !!
I liked both vids. Probably shooting yourself better than the AK, partially cuz' everything just looked better. I agree with everyone on the AK part. Also, you forgot to give the whole scene a flash like you did in the other one. The actual muzzle flash and the room lighting up a bit is axactly the way I did my movie, and yours looks perfect. Do it for the AK!
ALso, A while ago, i made a lightsaber movie of me fighting myself. Later i wanted to do a gun battle. It was about 5 vs 5 of myself in it. Try something like that, its amazing how real it looks when its done. And how fun it was, i cant seem to find the damn vids though. SHOOT!
On the 'shooting myself clip' I used a brief flash of 'brightness' in Premiere to illuminate the whole scene.
In the AK clip I was too lazy. I think this really makes the gun flash look a bit rubbish. When I do it in the film I'll put a bit more effort into it.
I liked both of them, the only problems i saw was, like stated before, the lazy recoil, the tiny muzzle flash, you fired WAY too many rounds. The clips hold 40 rounds unless your using a 75 round drum, and the gunshot of the AK is more of a low rumble than a high pitched ripping sound. When you do the real movie, if you want it to look realistic only shoot a 3-5 round burst, pause, another 3-5 round burst, pause, etc for 40 rounds so it looks like your compensating for the awful recoil that comes along when shooting that beast!
You have to worry slightly about the acting, because cr** acting can screw up an effect, especally with guns, because when they look too fake it can actually screw up the whole film.
I'll rephrase their is bad acting, in the I diliver my lines like I can't act, and that is one of the staples of these films, and shouldn't be lost. Then their is acting, in the I have no f-ing clue how to hold a gun, or what it does, and I don't bother to find out. That is what can screw up an effect. I also understand that Matt was just doing a test, and not trying to make it look real, by the way, cool effect.
