Watermarks

Post by edinc90 »

I have some stock footage that has a really annoying watermark image right smack in the center. It is semi-transparent. Is there any way to get rid of this w/o screwing up the rest of the footage? I am using iMovie and Adobe AE.

Not really, that's why they shove water marks on top of footage, to stop you using them :D

They mark it so you can see and like their products, but not be able to use it. Most demo programs do that as well. It sucks, but that is how they get use to buy whatever it is they are selling. What is the footage of?

Footage of...

B&W footage of an atomic bomb exploding. It is for a short my friends and I made. We basically fired a missle thing (digital FX) at the Mailman and he blew up (thats why we needed the atomic explosion)!

Well, you could check out Detonation Films and see if there is anything you like. There are tons of resources that have footage of an atom bomb. You just gotta keep looking. If you need sounds, you can check out some of the nuke sounds that Matt has for download on this site.

Problem with those movies are when you use it with your own footage, it will look terrible as a result. They are too small and too compressed.

Dont say that! Just for the sole reason that it can get Matt into trouble from his host. Plus, filmaking is so much more rewarding if you buy the stuff you use.

Sorry, you're right. But something like a atomic bomb exploding should be free anyway.
