Film Music
Hi,
I would just like to take the opportunity to ask you all where you aquire the music for your films.
I only ask because I have not yet created a feature length film with music.
Thank you,
Lee

Yes, yes, yes. I'm sure there are heaps of people out there who would love to do it. We (me and grant) just so happen to be friends and the work comes together very easily. It also makes the film that little bit more unique without soundtracks ripped from other sources.
Check out some of the pieces from our downloads. They were all done in Cakewalk, which allows the import of .avi (divX being a handy one), then during video playback, you can record the music through your sound input (of which an External Audigy is recommended).
I just get the feel and mood of the scene as I go. And more often then not, it will take ten times more takes to get it right than the actual filming.

I don't use music from other soundtracks. The theme to our newest film is done originally with a YAMAHA keyboard. But for the rest of the music in our films, I go through my extensive album collection and match up songs for specific scenes.
Now, if I intended to make a profit from any of my films, I would do an original soundtrack.
