I'm making a Catwoman / Batman fan film and wanted to post some shots from the first costume test. There a little rough but capture the look and feel i'm going for.

I'm about to start screen testing for the role of Catwoman (girl here is a friend standing in) And also the costumes are a lot better now.
But I'd love to get some feedback on how you think its looking so far.

Take your point about the suit, i've now got a new catsuit and a corset (not personally - for Catwoman) which will should pull things in tighter as well as emphasise the boobies.
Thanks Outcastjiob

Good eyes - thats my xl1s. howd you tell between that and the xl1?
There all stills taken from dv that's been graded in premiere pro. I'm a big fan of Underworld if you couldnt tell!
I just wanted to see how the costumes looked and if I could pull of the look i'm going for - which i'm pretty happy with. And its awesome when you get great feedback from fellow film makers
The real test will come in a few weeks when i shoot a scene and we'll see how the new costumes look & move on camera...

the tapering on the bodywork of the camera near the lense is very slightly different, i was looking at them today in the shops and noticed the difference.
could u explain ur grading process? i'm grading my film at the moment and would be really interested in seeing some before and after footage plus an explanation of your process.

And give away the mysteries of film making......allright then and only cos its you.
I increased the contrast and raised the black levels to give solid blacks and shadows more definition. Then when color correcting it i found it wasnt so much adding blue althought i did. It was taking away the red and green that gave the right effect. Then I used a garbage matt with a colour replace filter to bring out the sexy red in her lips and empahsise them so there the only red in the frame. I'm really pleased with the way your eye is drawn to them.

No before shot to hand i'm afraid but the pic of me directing is how it looked. Just a bright sunny day with strong colours and great even light. You can directly compare the skin tones and blacks on catwoman to see the difference.
In the directing pic theres only really black and the shine on the catsuit. In the graded pic where i've played with the contrast and black levels theres a few different shades of black to give definition.

basically i use a reverse chroma key to keep her lips red

oh right yeh i understand - same sort of thing as masking in AE. thanks its always interesting seeing how other people do things. there's some ungraded shots of my movie on my website - www.flashburnfilms.tk under films > spent casings photos
the black and white is just the thumbnail images to match the website - if u click on them u get the full size. they're straight off the camera so the colouring leaves a bit to be desired. the main reason i was asking about the colour matt was i was working on a blood splatter effect about a week ago - the blood wass on a window and appeared very dark - and i was wondering if the technique you used was similar to mine (which it is). i worked out a process that creates essentially a virtual gel in AE - you make a solid the size of your comp and adjust the colour to suit then set tranfer to overlay and play with the opacity and the saturation - very useful when adjusting the individual levels causes to much grain.
