Adobe After Effects

Hello, I am a 17yr film student from New York City. And I want to get my hands ona copy of Adobe After Effects (Newest version of course preferred but would settle for 5.0 or higher). I want to teach myself I want to learn and get better. Does anyone know where, how I could aquire a copy for the cheapest amount possible? I really don't have a lot of money. I am young and my parents don't really support my field of study. So please if anyone could help me out I would most appreciate it. I went on Ebay and found real reasonable prices on used versions. However, most of them are only selling in the UK. Please can someone help me out?

buy it from a student discount software website. all that is required is you prove that you are a student (like a student id or something) and everything on the site is way cheaper. thats where i got my copy. http://www.journeyed.com/itemDetail.asp?T1=86881033
