Guilt
A new movie I'm typing the script for, and just so yall know, YES I AM going to make my 9 Millie movie. But anyway, I think this will be a really good movie. :p'n'l:
After I finish 9Millie I'll get an external microphone and greenscreen fabric, also I'll try my best to get older people in my movies, like 25 or 28, or 30 I dunno. But, to help with that, what do you think an alright amount of money would be to pay a guy to be in the movie

Well, are you going to submit this film into a contest maybe? If so you should tell them that if they wish to do this movie it is in their own benefit to do so. If you are not making this movie for anyone but yourself, I would suggest some friends to help you act. Therefore you will not have to pay anyone.

Ok sounds good to me, I'll do that. I'm going to work with lighting in this movie, i looked on www.pssl.com a lighting and audio site, Found a 50w light for 20$. I need a light w/ stand the bulb 150w, light w/ stand 100w bulb, and a light w/ stand w/ a 50w bulb. I need to get all of that as cheap as possible. Anyone know the cheapest place? Or how to make a really cheap one?

I'm betting there'd be about an 80 - 90% chance of people wanting you to pay them if they're this old, being that most people 25 or older have jobs and busy schedules to keep up with. If you hire an actor it'll be about a 95% chance you're going to have to pay. I'd just make the film with some friends cause it gives you and your friends something to do together when you're bored. Also I want to see "9 millie" start making it!I'll try my best to get older people in my movies, like 25 or 28, or 30
No, kenentertainment, well first of all 25 isn't old Second, if your the same age or around they will work for free almost deffintly if they like the idea and you offer food / traveling. But since he is 14, I doubt it unless it's friends and family.

Yes, people that age would probably ask for pay, but i could tell them "Making this movie is for your benefit, I will put it in film festivals and get you known, also I'll give you a quarter of what I make off it."
Also, people, get used to sayin' I'm 15 now, bcuz Dec 26 is my birthday.

Back on topic...
Absolutely do not pay an actor. I threw down many months salary into my movie and my actors never saw a dime, people loaned me their houses, drove great distances, etc, and I didn't pay them. Why? Well for startes I'm not maknig any money myself! Only if you will be making a profit on your films should you pay your actors. Go watch my trailer and you'll see one of my main actors in in his 50's. Most of them are in their 20s. I auditioned them (they were total strangers) and they signed on. Let me condition all this to say that strangers will only be in your work if you're doing good work already. So you may want to stick to family and friends until you can put on a good production. Lastly, and most importantly, you absolutely must feed your actors. They may work for free, but they won't work hungry. Will it cost? Oh yeah. On my last movie I had to spend over $700 just to feed my cast and crew. The price to pay to have a lot of people on set.

The only time I payed one of my actors was when I gave a guy $15 when I accidentally broke something of his property (a crappy radio) and I think that at this point, that is the only circumstance that I would ever have to pay someone.I3lade203 wrote:Anyone who wants you to pay them , is not worth the trouble.

hell one of my actors, broke ...well here's a list
1. My airsoft Shotgun
2. My high powered airsoft shotgun
3. my mp5 shotgun
4. Ruined my carpet by spilling pop (a 2nd time)
5. THeres a s*** load more, but im not goin into detail...
and when he spilled the pop he said "i dont know who bumped it" obviously he did but hes too chicken to admit to it.
This is exactlyh why i would never pay anyone anything.
