Hello All -,
I am curently in post-production of my project, and I have a scene that opens with a horizontal pan across two characts on a bed. The scene starts at the wall of the bedroom, and continues to the bottom of the bed. I want to try and give the effect that it starts from the middle of the wall [black] and pans out of the wall and into the scene. Does anyone have any ideas?
It might start with one out of two takes.
Here's pictures of what I am talking about:

Woah, Ok. I figured it out on my own. If anyone else was wondering how to do this I did it by: Linear Whipe (Sonic Foundry Vegas Video 4.0)

Panning? That's done by rotating the camera one direction or the other.

Panning is not done by rotating the camera LOL. If you rotated it you would be movie the camer in a 3 dimensional angle not panning. Pannin is to move the camera in a single direction slowly or fast depending on the ffect you want. usually horizontally or vertically. & You are a little late I was talking about editing the panned footage. I wanted the efect that the pan starts from the middle of the wall like what is done in many films and I realized in Vega Video is called a Linear Wipe.
