Ok, me and truggy have this neat little program called "Run VNC"...its a remote desktop program for windows XP home because of course windows XP home doesnt have a remote desktop feature...only pro does...anyway...im tryin to have truggy connect to my run VNC server....but thru many attempts its not letting him. First off...say my ip is 68.555.647.2 or something like that, how would he connect to it how would he connect to it thru his viewer thing. Like http://<ip>;5900 or how do i determine ports....anyone help me out here? Thanks

RE: Real VNC
If you kept your VNC server at default settings it will be listening on the correct port, the client will default to trying to acess the same port. Opent he viewer and add a connection to the IP address. DO NOT USE the http;// protocol, it's not a web site.... all you need in the viewer is the iP and any password that was implemented on the server. The next question then becomes, are you using a router to connect your PC - you may need to forward the port to the internal address if you are. Also if you have SP2 on your XP box, you will need to open the port. Not sure anymore what port VNC uses, but it should be in the server config somewhere...

RE: Real VNC
Are either of you running XP SP2 with the windows firewall enabled? Or for that matter any other FW software? If so then you will have to map a port thru that..
