3D grenade model - Need bit o' help

Post by mercenary123 »

Alot has been going on lately, mostly good. But, now I have a 3D prog and I can easily animate a grenade, shrapnel, bullet, shells, and cr** like that.

Since my prog isn't perfect, I can't put together a good grenade. I was wondering if anyone here can put together a good looking pineapple grenade (without the handle or pin). I need it in .3DS format so i can import it in. I'll give the proper credits.

Thanks yall, peace out,
Merc123

I just finished up a model you can use the file i'm sending contains a model with a pin and a model without a pin. If anyone else wants 3d models i take a class on it at school and I'd be happy to make some. I get extra credit :)

I also PMed you, xhuntedoverlordx. Looking forward to seeing the grenade. :)

Hey, can you make a 3D model of a pistol?? I thinking about a character in my up-coming my, getting the gun kicked out of her hand, then turning around and grabbing it.

mercenary123 wouldn't that be easier to just buy the pistol. Shoot I saw some for like 45 bucks... hey I bought one for around that. It's a Barretta. alot easier for the actor to use the real thing.

There are free high quality grenade models at www.turbosquid.com though you have to search for em.

If all this is for your Vietnam movie... the US didn't use pinapple grenades. They were issued the "lemon shaped" ones. Also, the pistols were generally carried by officers and NCOs, they mainly used the wood handled M1911s.

I have seen replica M1911s for as cheap as $15 and blank firing productions as low as $89. :)

I use the free modeling and animation software called Anim8or, you can download it at: anim8or.com. I also use 3D Max 7, I don't have a copy of it though. I get to use it in school though because I take an animation class

Looks like the guns need something for more realism, not sure what. Maybe texture, or imperfections, or lighting. Not sure what.

can you put them on someone and zoom them out to see what they would look at are farther distance. also, see if you can add some muzzle flashes and bullets coming out. I know, asking alot, just interested in the look.

Okay i've reuploaded the images from a different angle. They always had texture it just didn't show up well when I uploaded the first images

(I took the stock off the AK-47 so that you could get a closer look at it.)
Unfortunately the pictures loose a bit of quality when I upload them. If they didn't you'd also see small irregularities in the metals. Little bumps and such.

Mercenary... you have a long way to go before you're ready. ;) Having props is merely a small part of a masterpiece.

if you wanna learn 3D you could always try gmax.

http://www.turbosquid.com/gmax

Its kinda a free version of 3ds max, only its more made for games, and i dont think that you can render what youve made. but it is a good starting point for learning.

the program is around 19megs to download. The tutorial is an extra 14megs and the help file is 15megs. Only took me a night of downloading to get it. (56kbs)

Our school used to use it to teach us 3d modeling, but now theve got 3ds Max. I still use this at home though.
yeah, im a loser..

I've worked with gmax before too. Its pretty good for learning to model, you can render you just need a special plugin.

Looks good, probably lost some of the texture but it also look more real if they were smaller like on the actual charecters so i wouldn't know until adding something like that onto a movie. How well do you do people? Like soldiers like the ones in the black special ops uniforms.
