Mercenary123, this is what I'd tell you. I paid noone to be in my film and I had people form age 3-70 in my film. Just give them a better reason to be in the film that money. And use the older people in prominant but small roles. Take for instance the older 50-60 year olds. They were in less than three minutes of the film. But spaced out periodically, so you have the illusion have reality. Get people like your parents and other people around you. Right a part or use them as extras and tell them you only need them for a very short time. Then shoot the scene so that the moment they show up you get their shots in as fast as possible and they want feel hassled. Also, tell them, "I'm doing it for my education". Because you are. They will feel more compelled to do something they are as inclined to do.

I have no prob getting my parents or grand-parents acting, it's just that...they can't act.

So i need ppl who can actually...act, ya know. I want some old enough actors that can act, should I put a big ad in the paper?? or what?

No ads in papers. I did it once, got nothing but people with egos showing up. I told them I was indie and low budget and they still asked what big fancy school I went to and what big company was funding my film. Bump into college people. Go to high school and college theaters, anywhere that people act and mingle.

unless they are famous, never pay. You get a good idea who is real and who is in it for money.

Is it worth checking out drama students and people who are "learning" to act, i got a load of people at my college who are taking drama who are quite good, but are DESPERATE to have their name on some credits, it's worth a shot, i think
