Have you read the script before seeing this?

Yes, because I care.

A little bit, I could stand that you could make such a good script.

No, because I just want to see dead animals ran over by a train.

The Enemy Within

Post by maj_barnes »

Well I started a new thread for my movie, mostly because the one JUST for the script started to be filled with stuff not with the script (my bad!); if you have read it yet:
The Enemy Within Script
Anyways to start off, here are some more pictures of the set that I took; again it got dark fast so I didn't get much done, plus it was pretty overcast today (AKA it rained alot and stopped).

This is the field (next to the Mg-42) where the tank comes from.

This is further down the track to the left, this was right after the curve.

This is to the right of the last picture.

Do you think anyone will notice this palm tree; I heard Europe has a pretty tropical climate.
Image
Some more beutiful Florida wildlife, this one when I got there had about four birds on top of it. I couldn't find the possum, I think he went looking for his other half.
Image
This is where they camp out for the night, pretty nice huh? Reminds me of a Holiday Inn.

Very nice; the pouch on the helment is a very nice touch. Much better than my costumes; the only other things I'll have on mine are just ammo pouches on the duty belts.

to get arround the palm tree, you could call it the Pacific theater. It's strange how few WWII movies are based on the japaneese
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

You don't need a parachute to go skydiving. You only need a parachute to go skydiving twice.

Yea but I don't think they had pines and oaks in the Pacific either, lol. And besides I already have it scripted for Europe, I'll just try to avoid it; and if you see it: TOO BAD!

Another thing! The guy who is loaning all those weapons (2 Kar-98's, 1 M-1 Carbine Wood Stock, some uniforms and helments) he let me fire off 10 rounds from his Carbine; and if anyone else has ever fired one, that had alot more kick than I thought. So whoever is going to have a M-1 in their next movie, make the recoil like a AR-15, just pushes your upper body back.

M-1 carbines fire a smaller round...but they are one heck ofa lot lighter than most other rifles.....hence the heavy recoil...
I fired one and it was a lot of fun to shoot. but if you think the carbine is alot shoot a garrand...you will change your mind

Yea, the Garand was like shooting a 30 30 (when I fired it, I held it too low and it dug in under my armpit: I couldn't fire a rifle the rest of the day), I don't think it was alot, it just surprised me how much it it was. In like CoD, it's like firing a staple gun (and sounds like it too), so I went in thinking that; much more recoil, and a crapload louder!

Holding the thing steady was almost as hard as keeping it in your hands after shooting, lol! The Garand that is, I'm not a total wimp!

Okay, more pictures; sorry no dead animals this time-
Image
This is one of the helments I'm using, although I need to cover up the MP and the divison marking, also it has a number on the other side. Anyone have any ideas on how to cover up the markings without damaging them?
Image
This is the M-1 Carbine I made from my pellet gun and a M-1 magazine (the $20 one!) The pump did prove a problem for awhile.
Image
Here's me with the Carbine, I know I need haircut! I just threw on some parts of the uniform so I didn't look completely stupid. Also it shows how I dealt with the pump, put it in my sleeve (it hinders some movement though).
I know the Carbine is a little big but it looks the part, tell me what you think; more pictures will be posted as they come.

Well, I decided that for the tank scene out in my backyard, I was thinking of having dead cows and stuff randomly place about it. Here are some photos of the dead cows I'll be using:

Ahh...where are the possums and birds? You should collect a bunch of small dead animals and pile then in a pile to take cover behind. Then ur actors wont eat them, plus its cool cause there possums. See, everybody wins :)

You might have a problem (well, the people in your comunity might have one) with you piling a bunch of cow guts in your yard.

Okay more good news and bad news: one of my dad's friends owns a Thompson submachine gun, and guess what? He said he'd let me use it (hooray!). Also the same guy works on wielding, and he said he give a try trying to make that Mg-42. But the bad news is, I won't be filming as soon as I thought, everyone has a alot of plans during Spring Break, so I have to push back filming to a later date.
