Aerosol spray-colour, for dying your hair. Usually around only at Halloween, it is washable out of clothing and stuff, so I assume it wont damage the car. It can be found in almost any colour, that should work. You might be able to find it in a costume shop or something like that.

If all else fails just use water based poster paint and a small hand water sprayer (the kind that you use to spray plants with). It may not spray totally effectively but its a cheap option that you know will in no way damage the car.

hehe, why not just use real spray paint...... but cover the area intended with cling film (and make sure it doesnt reflect light on camera)

You could mix up a batch of washable paints and airbrush it on.

Saran-Wrap is the most recognized brand name. Like for covering cut fruits and veggies and stuff.

Careful using any plastics like cling-film! The solvents in the paint will melt them!

Wax the car before you spray anything onto it - It'll help create a removable barrier.

If you do get left with any paint residue (Like in fine scratches in the paint work), use a cutting compound (We have T-Cut here). It'll remove a layer of paint, and take any residues along with it. It also repolishes those scratches. Then a few coats of wax over that, and your paint work will be as good as new again.

if you mix a batch of about 1 cup water 1 cup cornstarch and then drop some food coloring in it it makes a good spray paint effect and it also dries really really quick so if you need it to be on for awhile...then you could wash it off....
