Not a lot; just one: Collateral. Everything that took place outdoors was shot on HD. Around 85% of it was on HD I read somewhere.

About 80% of the film was shot in HD, as 80%of the film took place in the Cab or outside...very few scenes were inside....they include, Max and Vincent at the Hospital, Max in the Club, and the finale in the District Attorney's offices.

Sorry if this is too much information. Some films you will recognize. Super Size Me was shot on a PD150 as was the film Paper Clips which will soon be released in theaters. Personal Velocity won a bunch of awards on the festival circut and made it to theaters internationally and was shot with a PD150. Hope this helps.

The PD-150 offers SWITCHABLE mini-DV and MINI-DVCam recording, dual XLR audio inputs with a mono short shotgun microphone (actually a plastic composite version of ECM-670), a very impressive (high resolution) black and white viewfinder (apparently 500tvl), a 30fps progressive scan (recordable to tape), a settable time code (i.e. tape 2, hour 2, etc), a sharpness and color saturation level, and a setting in menu for 0 or 7.5 ire Black level! The 58mm (thread) aspheric lens was pretty impressive, and much more substantial than VX-1000's. The manual audio levels include a true L-R separation with dB metering. It has a 58mm lens, two Zebra settings of 70% & 100%, two ND settings, and has spotlight mode with manual everything! Finally, there are also color audio levels in both viewers...

I found the low light capability of the PD150 to be absolutely amazing! I thought I was viewing live footage wide open when I was actually at f 5.6 !!! It was pretty great, especially when compared to the 1000 and TRV900! The matte black finished camera was much chunkier in front than in the pictures I've seen of VX-2000, especially with the broadcast style microphone off the side and dual XLR's (with myriad of switches) under the hot shoe mount contoured handle. All this, for about $500 more than the VX-2000, definitely worthy of consideration by the pro-sumer, wedding videographer, and special event “Discovery Channelâ€

Well i have used both, quality wise i cannot tell a difference. DV cams have larger tapes than mini dv but that is why they are mini. DV tapes are also capable of capturing 2 hours as opposed to about an hour to an hour and a half with mini dv. mini dv may be able to do 2 hours but i have not seen it.

It uses MPEG2 encoding to fit it on a normal MiniDV tape. Hence the term HDV, not just HD. Not sure how well the MPEG2 works, but good luck.

There is absolutely no difference in quality, and DVCam can be shot on miniDV tapes as well as full size DV tapes- recording time is 2/3 of the miniDV recording time since DVCam has a higher tape speed, both are 25 Mbps 4:1:1 sampling. The two advantages to DVCam are locked audio track and less susceptibility to dropouts since the same amount of data is spread over a longer distance on the tape. When you get into higher end Pro DVCams then there are other advantages unrelated to the recording format which make a better quality image - Larger CCDs and immensely better lenses
