PMW Updates!
In case any of you are interested I've got a few Project: Modern War (A film about the Desert Storm II) updates for you.
First off, "Project: Modern War" is not the official title, at the moment it is untitled but will be titled shortly upon script finalization.
Secondly, Act I of the script is finished, about 8 scenes.
The main characters have been finalized and their names will soon be released to the public. 4 Marines, 1 F-16 pilot (1 of the 3 jets shot down over Iraq) and a newspaper reporter from Boston.
As of yesterday, I recieved permission to take in a 3 person crew and 3 person cast to the Black Hawk Helicopter landing bay of a local Military Base.
I can tell you that it's based off of a true story of the 1st Marine Recon, when 4 guys were sent in to retrieve a prisoner of war from capture.
As far as props, costumes and equipment. Camera equipment will include 3 running cameras, 2 boom mics and one fully equipped, motor driven camera crane. As far as costumes, so far we've got all the BDUs we need, we're just working on weaponry and body armor.
Production plans to begin mid to late summer.
Opinions and suggestions are most welcome.
Edit: Don't expect any Hummers or Tanks but there will be a mess load of Terrorist trucks and maybe even a chase scene in the desert.

Wow! Sounds great! I look forward to more progress and, indeed, the final realease. Good luck!
Erm... yeah...
RE: PMW Updates!
Yeah! Great stuff! Cast carefully though, try and get actors that match the age of the marines your basing the story off of ( Well their age at the time of course! ) Keep us posted.

Here's what I did today...

(kick-bootie photos!)
We shot some additional scenes for Spenser's modern war documentary film... So if you need props, Gyro, I'm sure we'll have some left over.

Epsilon, you're making me ten times more excited than I already was! I don't know what I want more, mass amounts of those props and costumes, or one of those XL1's... who am I kidding! I want the camera!Epsilon wrote:Here's what I did today...

The M-16s were Spring Airsoft rifles, gutted out for training purposes. Then repainted with industrial painted, given serials, and done some other minor detailing. Then we stuck in real mags. Overall, they look pretty real. We had 4 M-16s and 1 AK-47 on location that day. We only had the two actors, the others couldn't make the shoot.
The location was a crapped-out house in Santa Ana. Of course, we had a filming permit from the city. Three cops passed by to see what the commotion was about and we had several spectators throughout the day. I got to portray an Iraqi terrorist being arrests.
The thing that still blows me away is the fact he owns a Steadicam!
