Recently been trying to edit some footage from a Hard Drive camera at school and ended up having to use my old camera and a VCR to create a converter from my camera so it came out as DV onto the computer.
Does anyone know why the camera companies are phasing out DV when the HDD and DVD technology is clearly not ready?
IDK if it's the fact that it's a hard drive would have problems uploading to yor Mac.
I'm guessing it is a consumer camera where the companies goal is to have so many gimmicks (minidv was fine) that it will have people drawn away from the actual picture quality.
I'll test the MPEG-2 for you. I've been able to read most every disk I've been handed no matter the format. MPEG2 should work just fine on a mac. Did you check the compatability of the camera before purchase?
BS! Ever heard of Final Cut HD? Or even the free iMovie HD that comes standard with every single Mac nowadays. HD is absolutely compatible with Mac. I think something is rinkus with your hardrive homes.
