Color Correction Tests
Hey guys. Here are some simple color correction tests that I did inside of Premiere Pro.
Of course the compression is all messed up from YouTube but it's still bearable.
Enjoy!

RE: Color Correction Tests
Having something to judge what the difference is would be helpful. It looks cool, all desert.

RE: Color Correction Tests
Yeah it would be nice to see a before/after. Because to us, that was just a very yellow video of some random dogs!

RE: Color Correction Tests
Haha! Okay, I'll do a before and after. Thanks for the advice.
RE: Color Correction Tests
It's just more... yellow. The footage is a bit overexposed I think.

RE: Color Correction Tests
It's not just more yellow. The saturation and contrast were adjusted, then the hue was adjusted (to make it yellowish) and finally the curves to crush the blacks.
This was just a yellow-biased test... Every film tends to have a color bias to it (ie, The Matrix = green/blue, etcetera) so I went for a yellowish tint. This was to add an 'atmosphere' to the footage, and I purposefully made it over color-corrected.
And I shot it slightly overexposed too...
By the way, if I was trying to 'realistically' color correct it, I would've done it a lot differently. What do you guys think a realistic color correction would be? (Hollywood tends to over color-correct these days).

RE: Color Correction Tests
Realistic would usually be probably just a hint of yellow, a hint of saturation and the blacks 'crushed' ever so slightly (maybe using curves to bring out the mid tones a bit)
But yeah, looks good.
Not sure if it deserves a whole thread because to you it's whatever your creative juices feel (unless your footage is unwatchable, there's no right or wrong way of grading like this) and to us it's a 'very yellow video of some random dogs' like I said.
Nice to see people doing this though

Good one. It was SUPPOSED to be a yellow video of random dogs silly.

RE: Re: RE: Color Correction Tests
Very interesting. In the case of many shots, color correction is really just a tint, saturation, and levels added. So in that aspect you did well. Nice music too...what was it? It sounded like Edgen.
